and thats the reason I think its better to call that piece as minister instead of queen. Since any servant can rise to ranks of a minister if he/she works hard. Since queen means someone should be royal. And its not possible to become royal unless you are born so. At least thats what I learnt after watching medieval tv shows about kings and queens

Man.. The whole series, and especially this one was just so concise and clear. Broad but detailed enough to adequately cover the topic, even in such a rapid-fire format, and without any junk or baggage to distract from key principles. Dense with potent insight. Consistent in principle, and I actually managed to retain it. Thanks so much!! Excellent video!

What an amazing teacher. I just saw everything that I do wrong. I knew I was too aggressive with my queen but I found 3other flaws. 1)I move more than once before the 10th move. 2) I undervalued my King in the end. 3) I make little or no effort to get a pawn across. I just learned so much :)

Wow! Thanks for uploading this series. I was that 90%, started learning playing on the computer via trial and error, so I did not progress very far. Always felt like there was something missing in chess--basically I did not know the principles/purpose/goal (besides checkmating) of chess. But I was good enough to be in a position where the cpu kept marching its pawns to promotion, but I was too dumb to use that same strategy. I'll revisit chess sometime soon.

I've been so frustrated with modern play. No one knows how to play an endgame. A statistical advantage is not an actual win. Being able to capture the king is the end of the game. A piece and a chair, to paraphrase poker, is all you need. The statistics of a perfectly played game does not represent a person with a momentary piece advantage and no endgame, and it does not equate a victory.
