Great explanation! The only thing I would add about the replacement buildings is that if you have a city in the middle of building one when you take a Society promotion that replaces it, you’ll lose all the previous production. This is rarely an issue with banks, but I find I have to be careful about monuments when I’m joining the Voidsingers early. I always have trouble hitting Hermetic Order early in the games where I actually need it. Almost always end up in Owls for science games and Voidsingers for culture.

appreciate those details! i actually wasn't aware it would reset your production. and yeah - hermetic order is pretty luck based and to get it early you'd need to be relatively close to a nat wonder

Been trying recently to get into Civ 6 again, though it's been a struggle, and found your channel today. Between the humour and pleasant voice I have to admit to an instant geek crush. I think my next attempt at a game that lasts more than 50 turns will be Basil II with Voidsingers. Religion in general feels strong, but combining it with offensive ability seems like fun. As a Civ 5 veteran though, there's soooo many things in Civ 6 to keep track of, it's pretty overwhelming. I tried watching the big players, like Potato McWhiskey, but while he's knowledgeable his style just isn't clicking for me. Meanwhile I've already learned more than a few things from several of your videos. Thanks bunches!

hi - i'm not exactly sure what you mean. are you referring to where it shows the yield for the buildings in the city?

yeah. when you open the production tab it shows the yield, i suppose its for what you get for building that specific district/building@@MohProbs

so in the production tab, you'll need to hover over the building to see the yields you get. the other screen i think you might be referring to is the "City Details" screen. When on a city, click "Toggle City Details" and a menu on the left should pop up. There's a tab for buildings and districts there. hope that helps!

Great vid. Unrelated, but it seems like you reply a lot and google was giving me old reddit threads… are you able to remove districts or wonders after placing but before you build them? Feels like it’s permanent on purpose, but I got duped twice into planning for multiple government type districts and then I found out you could only make one at a time. I understand there’s a mod for it, but I was wondering if they added that in an update that I wouldn’t know about. Will watch some more videos to see if you explain this at any point, but also because they’re just great to get understandable info from. Thanks!

yeah i made a game with no mods to check and you just need to enter the city panel and select the buildings, districts, etc tab as for the top right - that's a setting. Options -> Interface -> Show Yields in HUD Ribbon

they should be at the bottom when creating a new game. if it's not working, maybe try validating the installation or reach out to firaxis support?

since you're new i'll try and explain as much as i can. first make sure you have the mode available (you need to frontier pass - specifically the Ethiopia pack) and activate it for the game you're going to play (in the new game settings). then you need to discover the society - which I explain at 0:37. you'll need governor titles (generally obtained through the civics tree, although you should get one once you discover your first secret society) to actually upgrade the secret society. you don't need to appoint them to any cities, they just apply their bonuses naturally. you'll be able to upgrade them further after reaching the medieval, industrial, and atomic eras. hope that helps!
