I use plastic ziess lenses since 5 years but since 3 months i would using mineral glass lenses my new plastic lense have many scratches and glass have none even i am very very caribg person and glass lenese are better for day use can u suggest me what lenses would i have to use no budget problem THe BiG C user 😂

From your description I don't think this will work but if you owned a pair of Eco Eyewear frames would it be possible to "add" drivesafe by customising a sunclip with non-prescription drivesafe lenses?

I disagree. I think the best driving glasses are non-polarised. The reason is because wet patches on the road are essential to recognise quickly, and we use glare to recongnize hazards such as this. If you were designing them for either comfort or super bright conditions, then I agree that polarisation is better, but if you're looking to create glasses to give you the best vision possible during routine driving, then I would choose non-polarised every time.

I have a question... Sunset Violet is not recommended for driving on the Carl Zeiss Colourbook, so can you elaborate on that particular choice?

Yes, Zeiss are a global company who have to cater to all markets, some of which have some very odd rules. If you look into it, many of the Zeiss lens options are 'not-recommended' for driving, just because they need to cover themselves. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it

best Channel for glasses by far and a great creator... Just an idea for a video. For me as a German its quite hard to find unique brands like Reykjavik Eyes etc. in stores. Maybe a vid about availability and where to order? Probably its not problem in the Uk.

They are completely different, so it depends on the conditions.

​@@airborn65You might look into the Zeiss Drive sun lenses with their Polarized Skylet Road tint. That gets you Zeiss's Drivesafe lens technology, plus an anti-glare polarization filter, plus the Skylet Road tint, which is a lovely high-contrast sun lens tint designed for daytime driving. Zeiss Skylet tints come in three shades; Fun, Road, and Sport, which filter out 70%, 80%, and 90% of visible light, respectively. Road is what Zeiss recommends for driving in medium to bright sunlight. The Skylet tints also selectively transmit more light at 555nm (green), which is the same wavelength our eyes are most sensitive to. Zeiss claims that this allows their Skylet lenses to appear slightly brighter and display higher contrast than non-selective lens tints with the same visible light absorption/transmission, while still offering the same comfort, protection, and glare reduction. In other words, a Skylet Road lens with 80% light absorbtion (aka 20% VLT) should appear slightly brighter and bolder than a regular sun lens with 20% VLT.

As I'm sure you know Robert, I've had the Zeis Drivesafe lenses from you, and although I do like them I didn't actually find any great benefit at night with regards to reducing glare/haze around headlights or streetlights. What I DO find extremely beneficial though, are the Transitions Drivewear lenses I also got from you for all lights and conditions other than night time, although having been caught out a couple of times travelling later than expected, I CAN still see fine at night with them, even without any street lighting! I'm just wondering why you haven't mentioned these Drivewear lenses for the specialist sunglasses if not for general times, especially given the range of conditions that they are ideal for - varying light conditions (light-dark), low-angle light, overcast and cutting out most (all?) reflection off wet roads and heat haze etc due to the polarisation? Tony.

DriveWear is a great technology for sure, and if you have them as your driving glasses then there is no need to upgrade. But I personally have moved away from polarised lenses for driving for a couple of reasons.

Hello. I've been dreaming about smart glasses for night driving for years. Several cameras on the inside of the frame must track the position of the pupils, two cameras are aimed at oncoming traffic, they take pictures, and artificial intelligence analyzes the image, finds the brightest points, and, combining calculations with the position of the driver’s pupils, creates a small black dot on the glasses lenses , thus shielding the driver’s eyes from being blinded by the bright light of oncoming headlights. When will my dream come true, and billions of tired drivers, all night long staring at the night highway in tension, and squinting their eyes at oncoming cars.
