I come from a Southeast Asian country, this plant is really easy to grow. You can use the leaves (young and soft) to make sour soup with fish or meat and of course cannot be cooked directly when just picked. It's very simple, you just need to mix salt with clean water and add the leaves and keep them for a few days until they reach a sour taste and you can use these leaves to cook soups. This is a cooling dish for the summer in my country

@@HomesteadinHawaii I also have citrus seeds from Fort Center here in central Florida. It's a very old fort and before that it was a long standing native American village. You can freely walk around but it's a 6 mile round trip hike is scorching 🥵 bald open sun. But the village is in a large oak island. These citrus were studied and were found to be genetically different and probably the oldest Native planted citrus grove in the U.S.I have lemon seeds (lemon inside is orange in color and not bitter), very sweet orange seeds, and lime seeds (lime inside is light orange and not bitter). I also some grapefruit seeds but there is only one grapefruit tree out there so I only took seeds from falled fruit. I made lemonade with a few fresh fallen lemons 5 years ago and let me tell you. You honestly, truly haven't had good lemonade untill you have had it made with these lemons. It has me walking out there multiple times every year.

@@corytom4328 Nice! Good varieties are the key. I remember the first time I tried an heirloom apple. I had always just known what was in the store, gala, red delicious, granny smith, but this heirloom apple I tasted, best thing I ever had. Too bad we let the food system get to where it is today.

Is there a root, that's also called cassave, looks just like cassave, gets the wax treatment like cassave... but does start to sprout? I forgot 2 tubers I bought last year before summer. Instead of rotting they sprouted! Many, many sprouts.. roots are growing from the tuber and the forming sprouts are hard and tough and somewhat similar as how a ginger starts, with a tiny bulb. Do I have another sort of tuber? And which one? It was sold as cassave and truly looks just like it, but it is sprouting

Is this true ? Cassava, an edible tuberous root often made into flour, contains cyanogenic glycosides, which can result in fatal cyanide poisoning if not properly detoxified by soaking, drying, and scraping before being consumed.....

Some cassava varieties have more toxins than others. The kind we typically eat only needs to be boiled
