This guy critiqued and expressed his opinion so eloquently and RESPECTFULLY. This is what was missing with the comments maya and bilal made. They sounded arrogant and condescending, this felt like a genuine conversation. great interview

Its very nice to see the youth today is more focused and aware of their goals and achievements despite what they are perceived as. Great interview Aamna! It was so delightful to listen to Khaqan, so very open, honest, and straightforward yet very respectful. I'm enjoying his work in Yunhi, I haven't seen barwan Khilari. Looking forward to seeing him in more dramas, our entertainment industry needs young, progressive, socially aware and educated individuals. What he said about our society's take on any form of Arts is so very true, it's actually very sad. I hope we see a change in the coming generations.

Such a nice experience listening to him that i didn't skip for a second. I really appreciate the way he carefully listens to the question first, thinks about it for a moment, answers whatever comes to his mind respectfully, and then analyses his own answers keeping this 'ready to learn' attitude in him. I've watched his drama Bepanah, looking forward to College Gate. Wish him more success! 🙌

I loved the way he answered Aamna’s questions and he showed his intelligence and intellect But it all crumbled down after he made a very lame attempt to support Kim’s character.. He threw a shade on Tere bin but that like Aamna said was a side track but Maya has a lead role and her character lacks research and work.. How would we feel if Murtasim talked with an English accent and portraying a role of a Wadera? Wahaj worked in building his persona for that character but his friend Maya just focused on ripped jeans and makeup in Yunhi.. The channel like Hum and director like EtheshaamUddin and an actress like Maya didn’t work on her role based on where she was coming from that is US.. Having said that Yunhi has a great plot and all the other actors including Khaqaan are doing a great job but Maya’s casting ruined it , The could have easily casted an actress with a foreign accent and background like Ushna would have been perfect for this role and she possess the Oomph that Maya’s character is trying to express but failing miserably.. He has called the audience dumb twice! Like seriously?! .. Log apko Kanjar keh rahye hain aur aap logo ko dumb keh rahye hain tow first you need to change and be a bit more humble .. I loved how this interview started but hating how Khaqaan ruined it .. And by the way Jo bhichar gaye is a drama not a FILM ..

Lol not Khaqan shading Tere bin!! He doesnt realise that the whole plot of Yunhi was how a Pakistani American ends up marrying a traditional Pakistani guy...obviously if the whole selling point is that then people would get offended or critique if the character is not convincing enough!

However i love kims character besides her accent i find no fault … she follows her heart and is not a hypocrite … saari zindagi jin ko na dekha na baat ki achanak se khala bulaane lage woh ajeeb nahi hai? I dunno i feel with kims background what she is doing is right

@@anumsadi5246 Its not only the language..but also the way she is absurd!! Like why would a young american girl befriend a man of her dad's age!! @@harshithab7598 ok so i dunno maybe its not common in pakistan or india but i feel zulfi felt like an only genuine person to her in pakistan.. look how her own familt treats her and look how zulfi treats her and hence kims reciprocated reaction. Koi aur tou uss se sahi se baat bhi nahi karta … again maybe not normal but with kim character she is a little out there and outspoken… which seemed fine to me… also m my kids my daughter specially being born and bred in US wears desi clothes either on eid or shadis warna tou thats how she would dress too.. but styling to each their own… i cant find a fault but i respect your opinion as well.

And amna is 💯 right on Maya’s accent ,because my kids r born here in Canada I speak Urdu with them and they also speak Urdu aswell but still you can tell the difference in accent mannerism and it’s not only my kids I’m talking about majority.Maya’s mom taught her Urdu but didn’t teach her that we don’t call elders by names . Here in Canada , kids who are born and raised in Canada don’t even call elders by there names . We Pakistani ppl not only try teaching them urdu but try making them better muslims better human beings , because we are living far from our country our culture so we try our best . But accent is the thing which is hard to change because of schooling and their interaction with others in daily life , gora friends teachers and etc

Always love the interview questions by Amna. Trained actor versus Social Media star debate has existed before Social Media even existed. Read a book that had a chapter on the making of 'The prince and the showgirl'. According to the reports from the set Sir Laurence Olivier looked down upon Marilyn Monroe but when the movie came out, she ate him alive with her onscreen charisma n star quality. I agree with the democracy of stardom (audience decides). Awaz-e-khalq ko nakara-e-khuda samjho.

So many parents here in America including my own held onto parts of the culture they thought were important and passed it on. Keeping in mind they were also new to this country and working a lot and learning American culture. Some others may have had stay at home moms who are typical aunties who taught them more. UNLIKE Kim, most outside Pakistani will have English accents and will KNOW their culture but not everyone will adapt it or like it as I have always been influenced by British culture I think I'd they kept episodes short and they avoid character hypocrisy and gave teacher abusive backstory it would be better overall now yunhi is over did your thoughts change

I think it's the clergy ,politicians are the ones who divide people more on the basis of the sect ,language, race , province and extremism. The singers and actors are the ones with their performances are uniting people. Artists with performances are the one crossing borders reaching hearts and minds in a positive way. We need to work on better stories, drama that move fast not soaps dragging on and on, also better lead roles, strong male, female leads. We are tiered of same old stories. Good to see new educated kids coming in show business. Democracy is also not perfect but better than the alternate. Trends come and go but good performances stay with you and leave an impact. Good actors, talent will shine good example are Yumna and Wahaj even with a mediocre script are making their mark on Pakistani drama industry. Keep learning and stay humble 👍

I find the character depicted of Kim( Kinees Fatima); in YUNHI, is absurd,as I know many Pakistanis, in the UK/ Australia and they have been raised with dignity and show respect to their elders! However that being said, Kim exposes the hypocrisy too of customs practiced in her Pakistan, like why can’t a divorced woman be part of the Upten ritual, or about people do so many things secretly etc, so if you watched that fabulous Akhbari/ Asghari( Fawad, Humaima, Sanam, Imran Abbas) there too Humaima growing up in the Uk was able to also point out some of the overt hypocrisy of her relatives in Pakistan! No society is perfect, we all have our faults, so it’s better to take the the best compassionate kind caring practices to alleviate human sufferings, than to perpetuate those which causes harm to others!

I have been raised in the UK and now that the drama is over and I have watched and analyse every episode, I agree to an extent yaar. I'm Pakistani British I speak perfect Urdu but perfect english. I like yunhi and I felt my story in it but yeah toxic feminism like how Kim can forcefully marry Dawood. Overall I'd say it's well written and Kim's character was weird but her personality is that of an outsider Pakistani with her bold and modern lifestyle and clothes

Being ‘politically correct’ doesn’t make you dishonest, it enables you to not be so prejudicial to those who are not like you and who falls victims of abuse from the majority. So political correctness is respecting women and women’s empowerment, it’s not being racist, it’s not promoting Muslims as terrorist, so frankly I’m so happy I was raised by parents who fought for the rights of the voiceless, and I wear my ‘politically correct ‘ badge with pride! Its only white rascists in the west who use the political correctness as an insult, because they want to continue to preserve their white privilege, and not be accountable at how they treat others! I think maybe your comment is about Pakistan and I’m sorry if a I may have misunderstood you on this as I’m not SE Asian!

Khaqan's argument would have made sense had Kim moved to USA some 5-8 years ago. There were issues with the drama in the initial episodes, let's accept that. I loved everything except the last point. I actually found Kim difficult to bear. It is her extremely unAmerican accent. It is her using very unheard of phrases in English or in Urdu that a child who was born and brought up anywhere in the USA would find difficult to understand unless she lived on a farm with extremely Desi parents and was homeschooled and had no contact with society. These things coupled with almost perfect Urdu nuances make her look very different from what she is portraying.
