Because it isn't? It's a hand drawn style but this is clearly using 3D models. To me the phrase pixel art implies sprites for nearly everything. The game does look lovely though.

Being restricted to a profession makes it a lot more interesting to co-op play with other likeminded people.

This game seems underrated. This is on steam page for a while now but I rarely see someone talking about it. Just the visual alone is very interesting, it's so detailed and gorgeous. I saw someone played the demo last month (or 2 months ago), the gameplay is very much my cup of tea since I love exploring and finding hidden things. I also love their way of the mines where everything is pitch black and you need to be careful placing your torches or you'll be sucked by darkness. This is a day one buy for me.

I understand that making a new type of game makes you want to have original character style types. I just REALLY wish they would stick to cuter person designs. I really don't like the my-sim/wii character design. The blocky people are awful. But what do I know, I never played minecraft, roblox, my sims, or wii.

I agree. I even quit Valheim because the characters have square eyes and a square mouth. I love the idea of different professions and having to play in s team with other players to get the full out of the game. But seeing many people compare this to Coral Island, I'm afraid Luma will merely attract singleplayer people.

The fishing is legit good. You need different bait, you throw the fishingpole, wait for a fish and then you have to chase it with wasd to catch it. And you can catch shrimp with a net on a stick. Bonus!

I’m not sure if I’ll be getting this game and I’ll tell you why! I was playing the demo last night. Was loving it. Till I got into the caves. They made the caves so eerie and terrifying! I nearly jumped when I hit a purple crystal and a spider came out! It would appear that doing that attracts the spiders cuz every time I did another spider came out and omg they’re terrifying!! They’re so big and the sounds they make omg!! Never been terrified when playing a cozy life sim before! I nearly jumped!

I am extremely excited for this game, I need it so much. But the only thing is, I’m so sad they probably won’t have a mode for people who suffer with arachnophobia. It just ruins the whole game for me and probably many others.

500 in game currency to change jobs. If another person in your world chooses a job, the price also goes up by 1000(im not sure bout this number?). So a job change can cost 1500. Earning money is really easy so its not much of a roadblock.
