I received my first injection yesterday morning. Had a low grade fever last night (99.5) which has since subsided. Had the normal arm soreness within about 6 hrs. .Today (Day2) I have felt quite tired and fatigued, sleeping most of the day,. Tonight I am starting to feel more like myself. Comparatively ,this has been a much easier vaccination for me then ANY of the COVID Shots. I have recently had several good friends contract this disease. A day a two of being mildly uncomfortable is way better than 2 -3 weeks of excruciating constant pain that the Shingles virus can bring.

Thanks. Very helpful. After first shot, my arm was in pain for a week and I couldn't lift anything. Had #2 yesterday and developed 100° fever, sore throat, aches, chills, nausea last night. Thought it would be gone today as fever started to go down after taking Advil. Temp went back up to 101.5° this afternoon and I feel flu-like and weak. Was worried it was so long. Just had the 1st Shingrix shot. Nurse commented that people frequently have flu like side effects. oh boy, was she ever right! Six hours later I was so tired I felt like I was dragging myself around. I have significant pain levels normally from serious osteoarthritis, bad disks in back and neck, bone on bone in both knees, and painful rotator cuff problems. 8 hours later, I was experiencing significant fyll body muscle aches, headache, and the shaking chills. My pain medicines--tylenol, gabapentin, tramadol, and meloxicam--did nothing to alleviate these pains. Consequently, I didn't get any sleep. It was pretty awful and was unrelenting. I took my morning meds--nothing. 8 hrs later I took my afternoon meds and was able to get some sleep. Am hoping this won't last very long as it's been a trying day. Am hoping this will pass by tomorrow so I don't have to celebrate my bday tomorrow with this. Still it's way better than having shingles!

Undergoing aggressive course of anti-vitals, steroids, accupuncture... awaiting imaging studies. Physician, CVS and manufacturer required to disclose material safety information. I too am in the 10% vaccine reaction group. Age 60. 1st shot was given at noon on a Thursday. Took Tylenol (500 mg) within the hour. 7pm went to bed. Awake off/on all night with a severe pounding headache. (I thought, is this what an aneurysm feels like?). Was severely nauseated, under a duvet sweating in 80-degree weather. I vacillated between 101-degree fever and cold chills. Tried to drink fluids and was up peeing several times. Very shaky. No relief. Friday in bed. Arm sore, throat sore, woozy, fevered, and head still pounding like a Japanese Tycho Drum. Taking Tylenol at safe maximum limits. Not much help. Stayed in bed. Finally, Saturday felt human and not going to die. Took shower and it wore me out. Rested and dozed all day in bed. Another dose of Tylenol at 7pm as the headache was just growing too intense. Trying to give my innards a break from so much Tylenol. Slept fairly well. Sunday much better, now convinced I am going to live. Still took it easy. My advice to anyone that gets the shots. Vaccine side effects are wide-ranging and the severity of symptoms also varies widely. My brother just had a very sore arm for 2 days. I am going to take shot #2 as late as possible on a Friday and plan bedtime for the next 48 hours. My symptoms were not mild in any regard. I was miserable but I survived. If this is any degree better than what a case of the Shingles could do to me for 3 to 5 weeks, I am taking the 2nd shot. I do not want to go through this hell for weeks on end. Just be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. 90% do not have symptoms as bad as ours.

This presentation certainly understates the possible side effect reactions. With both shots I suffered significant disabling reactions. If you get the vaccinations, be prepared to be very sick with much pain in the arm, body ache, headache, weakness, dizziness for at least 3 days. With both shots I said to myself - why did I do this and then pay $350 to feel this way. There has to be a better way.

Never ending attacks by Trumpers promoting anti-vaccination false theories. To suggest that you were "Not Told" of side effects is difficult to believe. I've had TWO vaccinations, Phizer had no soreness the 1st shot but did the 2nd. The 2nd shot had a real kick and flu symptoms for 6 hours. Four months later, J&J had a single dose with a real kick also, flue symptoms lasted 36 hours, all went away. Where ever I went, everyone had had covid, had covid or had been vaccinated or both. Get a 2nd booster shot and look for your 3rd when the next vaccine that deals with varients becomes available. Don't forget researching the shingles vaccine. Its another must have vaccination. Was this vaccine tested against an inert placebo? If not, how are you proving safety? How long were the safety studies that were done? How many participants were in said studies (start and finish)? How do you know there were no long-term systemic reactions? How effective is this vaccine? Do you have to get repeated vaccines in order to obtain the benefits? How many people get shingles after receiving the vaccine? What are the adjuvants that are used? Are any of them known to be harmful? How are you tracking the after-market data that would prove this biologic is safe? If I have an adverse reaction, can I sue the manufacturer for damages? Thanks!
