You have explained things better here than the official substance painter channel. So many tutorials are like : do this then do that, without explaining why, which is the most important part if you're trying to learn. Not sure why that is so hard for people. So thank you for this
@kestrel77146 ай бұрын
Do tutorial " Documentaries " From substance painter first to know basics things and later you jump to course that how you do. if you start right to course you will confuse later.

Hey man, as a fellow game designer, just checking in to make sure you're picking it back up. How's it going?
@UtterUnit Жыл бұрын
I originally learned 3d with a main focus on Maya from 2013-2015, I took a gap of 6ish years and picked it back up at the end of 2021. It is tough memorizing proper workflows from start to finish, but it is possible. I had to learn Zbrush and Substance from scratch to catch up to the industry standards.

I've seen like, more than 50 videos tuto, and this one, in only ONE video, is way WAY better than every stuff I'vve seen on substance painter. There's little tricks & options I've just never seen or heard about. It''s clear, simple, and not stupidly slow with useless talking. Thanks a lot for that !

This really helped me out, I'm currently in college studying gamedev. We have blender classes and we also use Substance for texturing, our teacher made a tutorial and he explained this program for 3.5 hours, I just wasn't feeling like watching it all. Thank you for this video!

This has to be the most beautiful tutorial I've ever witness. I've literally taken 2 seperate modules for substance painter, hating tf out of the software because it seems so complicated. You've streamlined the workflow so gorgeously and made it so easy to understand o-o what an amazing teacher.

Awesome, thank you. Straight and to the point while still very clearly getting the point across. I was able to follow along and didn't feel like I needed to go back and rewatch a part several times to better understand something. Jumping back into Substance Painter after not using it since 2017-2018 is a bit daunting, especially since I didn't really use much of it in the past. However, I've been really interested in learning it from the ground up recently (more for personal use than anything), and figured now is as good a time as any. Tutorials like this make it seem so much easier for a beginner while giving me confidence to do more.

i rarely find there is a scale slider attached to any smart materials. it is instead attached to a single layer within the material, and sometimes multiple layers are all scaled similarly to produce the wear effect. is there a way to adjust the scale in them all at once? or any quicker way than adjusting the scale one layer at a time?
@MikeSmith3D Жыл бұрын
Being able to universally scale a smart material all at once with everything inside of it is something the community has been asking for for a really long time. Last I checked, the feature hasn't been added yet. Hopefully Adobe will update that soon.

Good tutorial but if it’s for complete beginners you should explain how to navigate the UI and not quickly click through different windows withput explaining what you’re doing.
@chumcool8 ай бұрын
23:39 This is where everything got confusing... What do you mean if I "accidently have a mask"? As soon as I drop the material, that we created from following your guidance step by step, on to the head, it comes with a Mask because that's how you told us to save it. So how can I accidently have a mask if the material we saved was saved with a mask. Wouldn't that be an intentional mask. Regardless, you say to make it a white mask after that, and it doesn't do what yours does...
