How about JFK, EWR, and LGA? I know those use New York's E-Z pass plus, which I'm not sure if it is compatible with sunpass pro EDIT: This question also goes for the Uni pass as well. I'd like to know if either one will pay for NYC Airport parking.

Update: As of 2023 SunPass PRO now works in Kansas, Oklahoma, and parts of Texas (mainly DFW)! Went down for a trip and tested it out in all three states, and it works like a charm! 🤩 This gives it a huge advantage over other toll passes since EZ-Pass and Uni by E-Pass aren't accepted in those areas yet!

i noticed the sunpass pro transponder comes with an ezpass id printed on the side. do you have to go to the ez pass website to activate it aswel?l or once its activated on the sunpass website your good?

Even the reverse is good. If you have E-ZPass, your existing transponder will work just fine in Florida

I’m moving from Florida to Pa and prefer to keep and only use the SunPass Pro because Pa changes u a monthly fee just to have their EZPass even if u don’t use it. Florida doesn’t charge you a fee after purchase so I hope I can keep the SunPass Pro even after I title my car in Pa.

get one from new york. not only is it technically free (you pay 25 for the tag but that amount is credited to your account) but you get discounts whenever you drive there

I have one of these but I was wondering if my transponder can’t be read at the toll, would they still be able to recognize that I have an account through my license plate? My license plate is on the website so I would think so just want to make sure it would still go through in that case.

Hi. I just bought one. But now I'm a bit confused, I see a E-zpass ID. Can somebody let me know what I do with it? I already register for the sunpass ID for florida, but I will be traveling to new york and massachusetts states which I believe is ez pass. No. SunPass will handle all payments.

I have just purchased the Sunpass Pro and setup my account with the SunPass app which is associated to the FL ID on the transponder. But noticed a different E-ZPass ID as well. Do I need to bind this additional ID with an additional E-ZPass account as well? Or is my SunPass account of of the FL ID sufficient for E-ZPass as well? Answer is much appreciated.

When I contacted them about this, they said SunPass handles all the payments. As long as you activate the SunPass PRO under your account, you can use it as an EZ-Pass. No need to worry about signing up under EZ-Pass.

The crazy thing is if you look at the maps for E-Z pass and SunPass Pro, the SunPass Pro covers more states. For example, it shows E-Z Pass is not accepted in Oklahoma, but the SunPass Pro is accepted.

You forgot to mention that when using Sun Pass Pro you save approximately 25% over the regular toll costs --- At least that's the case in Florida If I'm not mistaken. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 😊😉

I updated my new pro on my sun pass account and the device also has a EZ pass ID but when I tried to create an EZ pass account it says the ID wasn’t valid. So is having it just on my sun pass account good enough to use for sun pass and EZ pass?

A note regarding SunPass (any kind) for parking at venues, including airports. You must have the amount due already loaded onto your card. For example, my airport parking cost was $72, but I only preloaded $50, which wasn't enough. It's not like a credit card -- it's like a debit card.

I just received mine in Riviere-du-loup, Québec. It says ACTIVATED (online account and i added 35$). So i guess i don't have to do anything else besides installing it under my mirror? I'm bit confused tho about the "END DATE" for inactivity? I want the device to be always activated. Thanks

So this was a long time ago, but I'll answer anyway. The end date is if you assign this transponder to a rental car, you would want to use an end date otherwise anytime those tags were photographed it might try to charge your account.

My Sunpass Pro was purchased last July and is no longer working. I can't get Sunpass to answer the phone or respond to my emails (they just close them with no resolution). They have had complaints for years and are still unresolved. I'm going to purchase an EZpass from another state.

I need help with the activation of the SunPass PRO. I already have an account and I want to add this transponder to my account. I did click on add new transponder, and the site asks for the transponder number shown at the top of the device. Well, there is a FL ID number and there is a E-ZPass ID number. Although the back of the transponder shows the FL ID number. So my question is WHICH number to I add to activate my new SunPass PRO transponder so I can use it in FL and in other states with E-ZPass?

You use the Florida ID number when you add it to your Sunpass account even when you go though an ezpass tollbooth it will show the Florida Id with the ezpass tollbooth location

When you buy them they show you where you should mount them. Once there its all done and there is nothing more you need to do after you set up your account.

I'll wait until they offer a SunPass Pro Mini. As it is we have 4 RF ID's affixed on our cars .. you'd think by now there could be a SINGLE factory installed (built-in) RF ID so it wouldn't be so ridiculous.

Which account do you have? If you have E-pass Xtra to UNI by E-pass, no need for SunPass Pro since both transponders work in the state of Florida. But SunPass Pro has a higher advantage than E-pass cuz it has a wider network. Hope that answers your question.

I like it if I order it from New York the $25 it cost goes right onto the transponder With the Sunpass pro it seems like there are parking perks and possibly a wider network. They are one in the same in New York offers better deal with the money going straight to your account after purchase thanks
