Hello, I can't say much about FSU because I only know from what I hear but in my experience, USF is a pretty good environment to make friends as there are a lot of campus events and tailgates. Greek life is a thing but probably isn't as big as it is at FSU if that's something you care about. Party wise I would definitely say FSU is more of a crazy party scene from what I've heard lol USF does have parties/clubbing but overall Tampa is more of a chill vibe IMO. It really depends on what you're into! Also, FSU is in a college town so there's not much else besides the college, whereas Tampa is a whole city so there's a lot to do outside of school events which I was very happy with.

So would you say USF is more of a commuter school? Ive heard it was dating back a few years ago, not sure if thats still the case now. For someone living on campus, is there alot of social activity particularly on weekends? We have seen alot of people do walking tour videos and it always seems empty on campus even in session, is that how it is? Do people tend to feel campus and find things to do downtown or at the beaches? Last question, how is the area around USF, is it safe?

everything in the village (endeavor, summit, pinnacle, horizon, beacon) were made in 2017. The dorms are really nice even if they arent the brand new ones. if you go to usf housing theres pics and floor plans of the dorms

I’m a senior this year and I’ve stayed at a couple places. Campus Palms and Avalon haven’t been too bad. The thing with student apartment complexes is that you have to find the best prices at the right time, and they’ll usually have specials going around. From august to December is the best time to find a good price. I’ve heard good things about the flats, the venue, campus lodge, and the province.

Can you speak to what the campus is like (precovid) Looking for a campus that is busy, vibrant and things do to on campus all week. There are no videos that really show what the campus is like during a normal session so its very difficult to get a feel for the atmosphere. Would you say that their is school spirit for athletics? Before covid-19, the campus was pretty packed with people...most of the time people just went to classes. There's a healthy support of athletics but I don't think many people care.

Precovid, campus is always packed with activities and things to do for everyone. There’s like activities all day and at any time that is convenient for you. There’s definitely school spirit, I would say and I used to be in the band so I would see it first hand. People typically leave on the weekend, so the weekends are usually quiet on campus which makes it nice.

USF does a good job with their pre health programs/majors. They also have their own medical school downtown. But schooling is only one factor. If someone is a good student + passionate about healthcare, it won’t matter where they go lol they’ll become a doctor 🤷🏽‍♀️

Im currently a freshman at USF. I would say its pretty spot on USF has Campus passes you are required to take before you go on Campus. Its a short little survey. Theres janitors that clean frequently touched places like handles and Tables. The students usually handle social distancing well. Theres alot of Online classes you can take, but if you want in person classes its only for a limiting amount of course subjects

Hey! I have lived on campus for the past 2 years, and while the pandemic is still a huge thing, things are just different, not necessarily worse. You have to wear masks everywhere, but I don't wear mine when I exercise or when I'm going for a walk and I'm not around people. Most classes are online, but I have friends that have in person classes (primarily priority courses like labs). COVID tests aren't required weekly but if you stay on campus, you may be randomly selected for testing, which is super easy and convenient right at the SHS. As far as campus tours...no idea when they'll resume.(but honestly I'm sure you can find virtual tours of dorms and facilities, that's what I did prior to freshman year). We have cases, but the university takes it serious and is setting an example for a lot of other campuses when it comes to COVID. Not worse or difficult, just different and adjusting. Hope this helps!

And yea so they just randomly select students every now and then for testing,I think just to be safe about outbreaks.Neither i or my friends have ever been selected though but they do them.So if you do get it done they will have u go to SHS Annex for a nose swab.But when we were checking in for the semester we self swabbed saliva. And they just update our results on our student account,it’s free and everything.
