"Is the single longest held street race in North America" Actually that title goes to the Grand Prix de Troix Rivieres, of the GP3R for short, and has jumped around with Formula Atlantic, IMSA and NASCAR Pinty's being the feature race over the years.

It's pretty easy, my young lad Scottie Mac will be on the front row, hoping it's pole but quali will be very tight.....once he gets in front they better be praying for a safety car! Remember he didn't cut his teeth on Ovals!...Second preference is Josef, but I worry he may get entangled in the pack if he doesn't quali top 6. Romain Grosjean has to be there one would imagine, as long as he keeps it clean, he's a great driver no question.

Something I always tried to wrap my head around is why do they go to the “bottom” (left hand wall) of the straights at Indy instead of the “top” (right hand wall) like every other car does at every other oval

Since Indycars on an oval are set up to naturally want to turn left, the drivers let the car go where it wants instead of fighting it and scrubbing off speed. That's my understanding of why.

I think if Long Beach wasn't such a tight circuit with blind corners I would have preferred it to be a night race under big floodlights like Saudi Arabia and Singapore grand prix of F1. Indycar needs full night races to attract a variety of audience to the championship.

I think IndyCar has 3 main audiences which are America, Europe and Australia. Night races would cause a lot of Europeans to skip it altogether because they need sleep. That would make it economically a lot less attractive I think. But still, if they wanted to do this they could yeah.

The problem of a night race is that’s one of the earliest time zones in America so the east coast would be so late at night. Doesn’t work even for domestic viewership

I absolutely LOVE this race. It's my favorite indycar race and I love it more than the indy 500 and i could care less what other indycar fans think. This is the second most prestigious race on the calendar and i am cheering for my boy Pato.
