I’m pro-lab diamond. I got my fiancé a 3.3 radiant cut VS1 F color center diamond eternity engagement ring 10k white gold. It’s 6 CT’s in total. She wears it proudly and other women want her ring. It just makes sense to go lab.

@ all depends on where you buy it yeah if you pay high retail for a dirty small diamond your screwed natural or not getting money back… but me as a diamond dealer I don’t buy small diamonds only bigger clean ones they are great investments if you buy right and know the market… I stay far away from buying any lab CVD no market at all… there’s a reason it cost natural diamonds are a special stone not some made in lab junk… yes CVD stones are made in a lab and look like diamonds but they are not the same stone they test differently and most diamond tester now a days read for CVD 100%

I bought my wife, fiancée then, a lab diamond ring. It was cheaper and the size of it was insane. I later changed it to a natural diamond sitting alone instead of all those little diamonds around it. We got the paperwork for it and insured it. As a man, you have to know your budget. You know the person you’re with and know if even they’re within your budget. Don’t fall for that “3 month salary” budget either; it’s fake. I preferred natural because I wanted to get her the simple ring with the lone diamond on it. It’s all preference at the end of the day. It’s the same as getting a gold chain. 10k, 14k, 18k etc. Who is ever going to know what it is? And if you’re out around ppl that care what it is then you should take a look at who you’re around. The difference between lab vs natural; it’s either made in a lab or a slave picked it out for you. Don’t sugarcoat it for the big companies but that’s the truth. Never look at the resell value because you’re already putting negativity in your future. If yall split, you won’t be getting the ring anyway so who cares about the resell.

The resale difference is more about market trends, not authenticity. For many, affordability and ethics matter more than resale, but everyone values different things!

​@@ChrisSoiCy If you buy a natural diamond for 10K and try to resell that, you will only get 50 to 40 per cent of what you paid because of the huge markup. Of course, natural diamonds will give you some money back, but you are also losing a lot of money. If you buy a lab-grown diamond for 2000 and resell for 200, you lose money, but you aren't losing as much money as when you try to resell your natural diamond. Plus, most people aren't thinking about reselling their rings later.

Because it’s the same thing, doesn’t require suffering to get them, and costs a third of the price for, again, the same thing. It will test the same, look the same, the only practical difference is you can say it’s natural. If having a “more rare” version of something, that is actually the exact same thing is worth it to you, more power to you. But to most people it really isn’t worth it that’s why lab diamonds have become more popular
