I’m from Kenya and the experience is almost the same, I did a diploma, it generally takes 3 years but I took more than that 😅 For a degree it takes 6 years anyway what I think is underrated is the social life, you got zero, even after school. It’s more of a character development career.

Well the good news is I'm already a graduate of a different field so at least it isn't my first rodeo. I'm going to be doing an Architecture/Construction Management double degree and honestly I'm terrified and the sheer amount of various skill sets I'll need to quickly develop including sketching.

I’ve spent 10 years doing something I don’t enjoy so I’m going to work for my dads building business as a draftsman because I always wanted to be an architect but the drop out rate scared me so I did business and fell into IT Sales - hate it. Now I’m considering doing the degree and I know it’s going to be hard but I’m doubting myself again...

Nice video, correct me if I'm wrong but is having to learn the 3D side on your own a bit counter intuitive. Haven't majority of firms moved over to 3D for more rapid deployment of ideas and faster results?

Building design is a completely different domain here in Australia. Not sure what the requirements are but you could always contact the Building Designers Institute of Australia to find out

Amazing stuff... It takes 5 years to complete an undergraduate degree here in Zambia, then you'll have to work for 2 years under a registered architect before sitting for a competence exam and becoming a registered architect... I wish I was walking away with a master's after those 7years..🤣🤣🤣

check with the local architects board for the state your planning on living in and understand what the pathway to registration is like here. it isn't immediately given as you need to meet certain criteria to call yourself an architect in Australia

Hey! I need a little help in choosing my course for ms. I did my Bs Architecture from pakistan. Now i am planning to do my ms. I am confused between ms construction management or ms architecture
@DavidTomic Жыл бұрын
I can’t speak for your country but here in AUS construction managers are on site full time, coordinating the project and ensuring all materials and trades arrive on time for other people’s designs. Whilst architects design, document, contract administer and some even do a little project management which is a lesser version of construction management. Very different roles.
