My shells for teal are always the leftovers from big duck. It works you miss some of the faster ones, and end up putting a little bigger holes on the close ones with bad shot. I can’t afford to throw three or for boxes of shells out.

Little late on hunting ducks duck hunting is over bud ! Specially all the states you named ! Duck hunting hasn’t been no good the past 10 years still a good time with a buddy or two but used to have a 9.9 go half mile and kill limits now nope good luck to yohn

We rarely see alot of teal in upstate ny. They tend to migrate just before season opener. We get a few stragglers but mostly mallards and wood ducks for early. Late tends to be mallard and fish ducks. Obviously a few other breeds get in the mix but low percentage.

Since you'll also be bird hunting it is a 1000 dollar fine to have lead shot with you when you hunt waterfowl trust me I did that once

If you can hit a dove, you will be warmed up for teal. If you do dove and teal you are set for big ducks! And we use a couple of dove mojos all season and still burn the mallards up here in Arkansas!

Here we don't do early teal. We have early Canadas for 3 weeks then full out waterfowl. During opening Canada hunts we can get 8 per day

How about green wing or cinnamon teal? Is there anything a guy should do different? Also I'm in Washington state where we dont have a teal season. Pretty much everything waterfowl opens mid October with the exception usually being blue bills. Anything you would do different?

John, I've been at it for 38 years. From Fla to Washington. Teal season in Fla means, mosquitos, alligators & snakes, (leave the dog at home) 89-99 degree weather, short sleeves & shorts and a good chance of a tropical storm or hurricane. The teal (mostly bluewing 99%) blow in and blow out. Don't see Greenwings until later in the regular season. No cinnamon. As for Washington season, it's nice that it opens mid Oct. Closes a week or so, then back open till Jan. 107 days and 7 ducks. Plenty of opportunities and plenty of birds. Don't envy the Southern Boys and their teal season, that's the number one puddler, while Washington you can bag out with Mallard, Sprig, Widgeon! If it's slow, shot some Greenwings.

NW GA here. No good ducks, especially teal. Dont let the name fool you, I've hunted for years and never got a teal. Not much more than that. I do love hunting them though!
