You're going to love Tremor with him. Let me explain some crazy sceneries. You already know about the OTG sky drop. The extra health, yes The scaling on up punch is better than any launcher You can cancel all your strings to make them semi safe with f kameo, can be crouched but nobody is crouching your double overhead Krystal will give you an option against Johnny like pressure by exploiting gaps. Ketchup, you know I have that filth, you ready? Tremor can give everyone, EVERYONE, an UNTECHABLE throw combo in the corner, just call Tremor when you grab and make him do the 3 hitting low, it's that easy. You can also ambush that move during your double overhead string and now you have a l/o/l/o/l situation, you blocking that? Oh, it also goes into full combo.

Quan chi is a glass pea shooter zoner in an anti zoning game, I don’t know why they made a zoner in this game when liu kang, kitana and Shang are better zoners and are better characters. Just make him a normal character with the hypnotize move

Sub zero kameo is fire 🔥 To move your portal while active(dark or light) press 3 -move dpad left or right F44 as people rush down Bf4 for Wake up Stand 4 as round starts to beat Sareena, Lao hat You gotta keep people away at all costs stand 4 whenever you can as your “ poke” basically quan d1 F21 yeets skeleton a good distance He’s really good and has so many kombos Stand 3 great anti air Hope that helps! I slightly disagree. I really like the decision. Since he is focused on long range, keep away, and zoning, he shouldn’t be able to do a lot of damage without spending large resources when he gets up close. I agree with the balance decision, and I hope this is how characters are created going forward - with more emphasis on archetypes.

Ive personally had the most success with Sareena after first using Sub. But im very curious about pairing Quan with Sektor now, those missle combos looked sick. Ive heard scorp is great with him too

I think in terms of style points and design, they nailed Quan Chi. I'm still completely baffled why certain kameos change your starting health though.

The main reason is that it gives the devs one more lever to use for balancing, otherwise you do share the health bar with your Kameo (you get hurt if they get hit), so them being healthier would make the bar bigger.

Tip for the ground pound call in. Iwas practicing it for a while if youre like me and have a habbit of rushing out your inputs itll be really hard to figure out the time for the the proper combo setup for that. Once i slow it down o realized you have to think of the tremor ambush as 2 separate moves (i know they are two separate moves but i was trying to do it as fast as i could) When you do the neutral tremor call in your positioning him. You want to do the callin just before he stomps the head a second time. This puts tremor directly on top of the opponent. Then you have a little bit of leeway for the ground pound ambish (not a lot but enough for some wiggle room) i want to do it just as qua chi is stepping off the oppoent this will put tremor in front of ou ensuring you get knocked down in thr correct direction instead kf the wrong one. Hope that helps !

I think the best all around is sub zero, obviously the ice armor is really good for any zoning character but where sub zero really helps is the freeze. The freeze saves you from having to spend two bars on tentacle and instead gives you the ability to set up the portal and theres so many situations where you can get the freeze into the portal that basically you get at least 30 percent every touch and then if you really want or need to you can spend the extra two bars on tentacle

Ive been using scorpion and though he doesnt provide anything in defence, he lets you prolongue any of Quan Chi mix ups into full strings combos of 30%+ If you use him x 2 you hit 40% on combos though the cooldown not worth it.

A fun fact about B2, if it’s fully charged then it’s plus on block. I can’t recall how many + frames (2 or 5) but it’s a powerful pressure tool if you want to shut down any rush down or low pokes.

I am a scrub. I've been enforcing my standing 4 into projectile with striker. toss out the appropriate grenade, they have to block it. Either your s4 combos from the grenade into another projectile or they have to block your s4, and then I'll just cancel it into another projectile which at that range hits most people because most can't punish him. The grenades are good to cover your portal setup too, but yeah he's a bit boring with striker lol. Sub setups look fun so I'm tryin that.

I was using the skydrop combined with Sareena's meter steal assist. You can then go more ham with the enhanced tentacle grab because you can steal meter from your opponent.

My only answer to Johnny is D1xxEXDB3 Hold F+3 and it pushes Johnny out and prevents punish and puts him in your optimal range, maybe that's the answer to characters with great close game?

For the cage setups, you can throw and break the armor so you can truly create an unblockable and if throw hits same frame, it doesn’t apply the scaling. And yes, you can combo from this. Have fun!
