A year or so ago I needed to get and learn a video editing and production system QUICK! I'd worked in the music business for 15 years so I wasnt a total editing n00b but my first day sitting in front of DaVinci was a nightmare. Then... I found your videos. Now, I use it every single day and I'm pretty happy with where I'm at. I like the Fairlight system but I have to work a bit more on my Fusion knowledge. So yeah, thanks Casey!

Jason Yadlovski has a Fair light audio course that is relatively cheap (I started the course at it's beginning but I think it's under $100) and it's really good

Casey, you are a genius at teaching like this, this teaching method using a live student is the best. I learned a lot, this should be the intro to THE FUSION world of Davinci resolve. Thank you ❤

How about a Gantt chart for Fusion?

Why do my images seem to stop working once I built them and then put their elements in an underlay?
@hbdj6 ай бұрын
Nobody Explains when you first create a Fusion clip which by default adds to the Media Pool that it is useless from the point on and doesn't save anything as where what is on the time line is the saved version and if you remove it from the time line your work is gone. But you can copy it from the timeline to the timeline for a copy that from that point on it is its own version that can be edited separate from the original version on the timeline. cheers.

You make great videos, thanks. I have an issue with keyframing in fusion you might be able to help me with. I'm trying to keyframe an image using the 3Dplane node. I'm able to keyframe the first section and everything comes out on the mediaout just fine. When I try to keyframe the image a few seconds later it sets the keyframes and it shows the red, blue and green mover moving like I want it to with the 3Dmerge selected but in the mediaout window the image just sits there. What am I doing wrong? I even tried to use a 3Dtranform node instead of the 3Dplane and the same thing, it shows the mover tool moving but that's it. If you could help that would be appreciated

10:31 Can somebody help me finding how he did to automatically preview the selected node (not the final output)? I've tried clicking on any node but nothing changed
@zer0ish842 ай бұрын
Not sure about automatic, but selecting the node then hitting 1 on the keyboard will show that node in preview screen 1 and 2 would put it on preview screen 2. I'm pretty sure he used the keyboard shortcut.

I understand all of the logical. But i still don't see one point i don't see anywhere yet : how do you know when the effects do effect ? I mean i have a fusion on a video or sequence of 6 seconds. But i want it to begin 2 seconds after the sequence start. How do i do that ? I never opened DaVinci Resolve, it is maybe why i don't see that.

Use blend in the settings of the effect you are using. Hope it helps.

so what happens if you create stuff in fusion and then want to carry on in the time line, because the fusion part wont appear??

You need to create a fusion composition. So when you do your stuff in it then you can place it on the timeline.

DaVinci should enable History in Color page, and undo option in multiple clip edit. and you paid youtubers must address this. How can a person ruin a whole project by pressing only one button with no undo option. Otherwise they must put a warning that "The changes will not be Undone"

What I don't understand is the bread/recipe analogy. You can't really put any more ingredients in or change the amount of salt you put in, or bake it a little different, after something is made or baked, can you :D in fusion you can. I feel like this is rather confusing me than making it make sense :D
