@@joshuagumm3099 In the comics she was a grown woman, a medical doctor and a disabled hero. They changed her completely so that she could be a sidekick to the main character, and then made her “friends” act horribly towards her. Don’t get me wrong, the actress who plays her does a fine job, and perhaps it got better as the show went on, but I gave up on the show because of how they were treating her.

I wish they had more backstory on Mark Waid's "Thunder", the Earth-22 African-American kid who appeared in Kingdom Come. He looks like a 12-year-old Jakeem, but he possesses the power of the thunderbolt without being a genie. We don't even know if he's a villain or a hero, because A) he wears a shirt with the evil blue genie Lkz on his shirt... and B) Superman fights him and locks him up in the super-villain jailhouse. We know he had to have been born around twenty years after Jakeem, but that's all. It's been stated by either Waid or Alex Ross that Thunder is NOT the son of Black Lightning, like some have speculated, but not much more than that. We know that Black Lightning's daughter Lightning does exist on Earth-22, but she's bi-racial and may be the daughter of private Investigator, Jonni Thunder. So many mysteries involving those Earth-22 heroes and villains...

I like how Geoff Johns really fleshed out the character more. When he first appeared in the mainstream DCU he was called "J.J. Thunder". I never liked that because it always made me think of that ridiculous character from the 70's sitcom "Good Times"... and THAT always makes me think of how "J.J." became the inane male head of the family after the death of the show's cool dad! But I digress... Geoff Johns had the character referred to as Jakeem: instead of J.J. and really gave him an interesting backstory. It still is interesting. I mean, I REALLY want Jakeem's Dad to become aware of his son's existence. It's the soap-opera lover in me I guess.... And what about the way he crushes on Black Lightning's daughter? When Jakeem met Jennifer Pierce he sort of dropped Stargirl like poop from a tall horse...

Wait I thought the Thunderbolts name was cifu which the original Johnny Thunder pronounce seiyuu. Then again why did read where the Thunderbolt was passed to jackeem I haven't seen him in comics very much so is easy enough to forget. During the comic where he was introduced it was discovered or rather revealed that the Thunderbolts were actually 5th dimensional imps and the whole granting wishes or not acting unless they're granting a wish is part of the rules of their games like myxspzlk rule that if you make him reverse his name he'll go back home for 90 days.
