Good video! I’m with you on the moss issue. I’m perlite all the way for rehab or propagation if water won’t work. ❤

I find that this kind of moss mixed with organic soil is so good for my Tristar calathea. Although I do water it every 2 or 3 days.

I don’t like moss either. Messy and too difficult to tell it from the roots. Nice invention on the light and plant shower. 💚🌱💚

Yesterday I literally had to remove my philodendron from the moss covered soil it came in from the shop as my leaves started rotting. Repotted it in the morning by the evening it had started to improve, the leaves had some of their rigidity back and rotting parts of the leaves started drying, I’ve cut them off since but I won’t be leaving plants in moss in future. I’ve had the plant over a month and it hadn’t needed watering at all it just stayed constantly wet.

I pencilled a few holes the other day for cuttings because of you 🤣 Can crawlers be trained to climb if you need to save that horizontal space? Hammered copper eaves would be an absolutely beautiful long skinny planter for the crawlers... I wonder if Amazon has something like that 🤔 I like the funny way you angled the light. I've noticed with the hanging sconce I have with a sansi grow bulb that the plants directly under it have horizontal leaves -both my monstera deliciosa and my alocasia Zebrina, the 3 tiny birds of paradise that I was insane enough to buy are just off to the right of it and they need rotated or they lean slightly. The BOPs are putting out new leaves really frequently esp considering they came through the mail in the cold, so I'm a bit concerned about how fast they may become giant 😳 hoping this growth rate is just because they are literal babies! They're Nicolai and part of me thinks I should put them all in one pot and part of me thinks that could be regrettable. They're in 4 inch grow pots though and have roots as thick as my baby finger coming out the bottoms 😍😭🤷🏼♀️ I got them on a big square plate from Dollarama to help with space.

Oh rats, I’ve got four Alocasia Amazonica which I’ve propagated from corms in Sphagnum moss - also quite a few cuttings of Philo’s and Pothos and others. No coir, (disgusting stuff🤢) I’m worried about them after watching this. When should I get them out of the moss?
@EverythingPlants Жыл бұрын
Moss is excellent for propagations! I personally use perlite for most of my props and have really good success. Many people use moss for propagations and long term use and do just fine....I don't like it long term. Don't be worried about your cuttings....they should be just fine.
