I visited Barcelona in May, beautiful place with amazing food. I was only eating in affordable places, like Sagradas Tapas, and burgers and pizzas and such, but even the cheapest place puts an emphasis on delicious food.

Barcelona has great food options for every budget, we really enjoyed ourselves. There’s something about the flavors of Spain…I can’t pinpoint it (Spanish + North African seasoning, perhaps?) but I know it is delicious! 😋👍🏽🎉

Another great video full of fantastic information Antionette. Thank you! One question: I looked up the definition for "tapas." But, what's your definition?
@FrolicAndCourage Жыл бұрын
Fred - you’re an awesome encourager, thank you! My def of tapas is “small plate”. One tapa alone isn’t enough for a meal, but three small tapas together will do the trick. They’re also meant to share (if you want to). Tapas are different than a “rationes” (large plate) in their portion and price. I think some people go to a tapas bar, order an entrée, then get sticker shock when the bill comes because they assume everything at a tapas bar is a small plate. Or in the alternative, some order one tapa thinking it’s a really cheap entree and end up still hungry. Not so! Gotta read the menu👍🏽👍🏽 Are you and the Mrs. considering tapas during your trip?

@@FrolicAndCourage oh it’s my pleasure. Your videos demonstrate your intelligence, thoroughness, and your prowess in front of the camera. And yes we plan on having plenty of tapas! Oh and some gelato.

Hi Antoinette! Awesome content once again. Question for you. Were you able to communicate fairly well without speaking Spanish?
@FrolicAndCourage Жыл бұрын
Hey E! Absolutely - we didn’t have any issues communicating in Barcelona. Every restaurant we went to had an English translation on the menu and everyone we interacted with had a solid grasp of English. I recommend knowing at least the basics in Spanish (or even Catalan if you’re up for it!) just in case. Worst case scenario, you can use Google translate to help 😊

Hi there, I like your video. Will be great to add locations. Is Viana Barcelona at C/ del Vidre, 7, 08002 Barcelona, Spain The menu shown doesn’t look like what you described
@FrolicAndCourage Жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you for watching and for the feedback! The locations and addresses of each place are in the video, but the Viana location we dined at is located at Carrer dels Escudellers, 24, 08002 Barcelona. Keep in mind menus may change based on the availability of seasonal ingredients, but from what I can tell on their website the items we ate (suckling pig, croquettes, scallops, etc) are still there 👍🏽🙂

I’m going in two months. So I hope to try the market place and Viana. Question about your cruise excursions, was it challenging to book things off the ship? Did you book anything off the ship or was it done all in advance? My friends want to wait until we arrive at the ports? How wise is that?
@FrolicAndCourage Жыл бұрын
Woohoo! Two months will be here before you know it! La Boqueria and Viana are solid choices 👏🏽 The only things we booked off the ship were the activities that n Barcelona. All of our cruise excursions were booked online in advance with the cruise line to take advantage of the pre-cruise savings (and to get an refund in case something was cancelled). While there may be some availability the day of, I’m a HUGE fan of booking early. The peace of mind that comes with knowing what we’re doing before we get there reduces anxiety. Plus, we only had maybe 6-8hrs at each port and I didn’t want to waste time trying to navigate from the ports to the city center (some are really far away), searching for things to do, standing in lines, or being worried about how reputable the company is. Some folks like the adventure and that’s cool - whatever works best for their needs but I’d rather have things booked, paid, and ready to enjoy 😊

I’m a lot like you. But I have some adventurous travel mates. I really enjoy your commentary. I’ve learned so much. I do plan to try the pop cycles with the creAm filling that you featured. In very excited. I think I’ve rewatched some of your videos already. I haven’t cruised since 2002 on a big ship and this is my first Euro cruise. I will recommend your channel. Great job👍🏿

We paid with credit cards for the most part, but if an item was under €10 we just paid cash (faster and easier).

Visit Valencia for PAELLA ... Valenciana, that is the famous dish, any other rice made in paella are "rices", and seafood rices in paella, are great, but it is not "PAELLA ... valenciana : valencian PAELLA". And even in Valencia you must visit special places as Casa Carmela or go to the city island of El Palmar with less than 1000 inhabitants and 30 restaurants where VALENCIAN paella was "invented".
@FrolicAndCourage Жыл бұрын
Yes 👏 Valencia is the birthplace of Paella! Thanks for the recommendations!
