Great video!! I have been to Barcelona a bunch of times and your video made me want to sign up for a bike tour. One thing about fast food is that I do like to stop in McDonalds in different countries to see what have on their menu. Plus in Spain you can get a beer and and relax in the A/C.

Parallel situation to an extent. Likewise, we've waited almost 3 years as well for our bucket list Barcelona trip. The main reason tho was covid and its aftermath. We finally got around to booking our vacay and will be staying there in early September. Our trip totals two weeks, but 4 of those days are dedicated to staying in Marseille. Can't wait!!!!

Wife and I will be in Barcelona 3-days before our cruise too. I've already arranged private transportation for us from the airport to the InterContinental though. Question Antionette: our spanish is severly lacking (we just started our Spanish lessons on Babbel) - will we find it difficult navigating and indulging in the local shops/restaurants during our time before our cruise? It seems like you can speak fluent spanish.

I think you’ll be fine - the basic pleasantries go a long way 👍🏽 I’d say about 98% of the people we encountered spoke enough English to understand without issue. The remaining 2% was the taxi driver who took us to the port of Barcelona, but we coordinated it with the hotel staff and they were able to set everything up. Thanks for the compliment! I really wish I was fluent in Spanish, but growing up in southern Cali gave me a great foundation 🙂 besides, even though Barcelona is in Spain, a lot of people speak both Catalan and Spanish in addition to English…and Google translate has both languages available if you need translation assistance.

Yes anything Barcelona we are going in October. When was this trip? I speak Tex-Mex Spanish would I be able to communicate with that? Doing Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Florence in 20 days do you think that is too much or enough? First time traveling abroad. Nervous but excited.

Hey Juanita- This trip was during the summer. I think you will be fine using Tex mex Spanish - the basic pleasantries go a looong way in any country (hello, good morning, goodbye, please, thank you, etc) I also think 20 days is plenty- that’s about 5 days per city. The first trip is always the most nerve-wracking, but day by day you’ll get more comfortable. The beauty of Europe is that you can have the best time just hanging out and relaxing, whether it’s a stroll down a beautiful street or having a glass of wine (or your beverage of choice) at dinner without being rushed. I pray that you both will second of the experience 🙂

Hi DJ 👋🏽 The train is kind of connected to the airport. From the airport you have to take the escalators down to the metro level then cross the street into the metro building to buy tickets and get on the train 🚆 We took our luggage on the metro and had no issues…and we’d do it again 😊 When is your trip??

Hey Nadim - we flew TAP to Barcelona. I’ve flown with them a few times - they have pretty good deals if you can snag one 😊 the only thing to know is there will likely be a layover in Lisbon, so make sure your layover time is more than 1.5hrs. Most times you have to take a free bus to the plane, so boarding tends to end at least an hour before the departure time.
