The temperature drops by roughly 10° on both CPU and GPU if you place it on a cooling pad. I tested it with hogwarts legacy on high settings, GPU ran at 68° without a cooling pad. With a cooling pad, my average temperature is 56° on high settings. Other games gave me roughly the same temperature drop with a cooling pad. It also depends on the settings in MSI center as the fans do run high if not set right. The MSI AI Engine learns quite fast and regulates fan speeds after playing a few games, so that it does not have to run at high speeds all the time while gaming. It may be a cheaper laptop, but it's not a bad investment. All and all I personally find it a great laptop for both gaming and work.

Hey, look I just got this laptop, I am really happy that I got it i'm using it rn, i just have questions, the first game i got was roblox because i wanted to try it out, it worked fine, but when I had spotify playing in the background it paused sometimes and is it really normal that the fans were a bit loud while playing, it also was hot while charging when i was first signing in.

Laptops are a short case for physics. Less area, less cooling xD Best is to get a cool pad for your main gaming area if possible? Don't worry too much about the heat unless it's constant 85+ C

Generally Intel is still best on mobile. The Ryzens have lower TDP on multi threading but also worse performance. For gaming only they are quite similar at that level

Yeah it should, but Sims 4 get gaming laptops really hot, so it's a good idea to undervolt your pc. If not familiar with this just buy a cooling pad.

All performance boosts will come from Windows Settings - nothing in BIOS afaik

​@evetechtv thanks my friend. I've tried changing the Max core frequency, turbo performance boost mode etc in win11 advanced power options menu. The CPU just does not respond to any %. The only thing it respond to is turbo boost enabled or disabled.

Yea I think it comes down to build quality and price. I got the MSI for a budget price. The MSI also has a 120hz display. I'm unsure about the Acer Nitro V. I think also a good quality RAM is another factor. The thin 15 MSI I got has 2x4GB @3200mhz. Can't remember the brand of RAM. MSI has its own OEM BIOS with hidden advanced features. It's got a plethora of OC options though I haven't figured it out yet.

Hi, this particular laptop will stop charging once it reaches 100% and then it very lightly charge until you use it and trickles down to 80%85% battery it will begin to charge again to 100%. You can tell it's charging when the little White colored LED on the left side lights up. Also if you google it up, enter the bios settings. There should be an option to enable Fast Charge vs. Normal charge

If you are gonna use it for gaming, i recommend removing the charging limiter, so that way you don't put that much strain when doing a high intensity task.

Bought it two days ago. Out the box, it easily maintains 240 fps in creative, can 300+ on 1v1 maps. In battle Royale it holds 200 quite easily without many stutters.

Bought one yesterday. Tried to run VALORANT and it’s hitting 100 cpu usage right away… can’t even play most games without the fan working overtime and cpu just going crazy.. definitely not good laptop.. I even have it on balanced instead of extreme and had cool booster on but still didn’t help the cpu drop

Cuz it has one fan but it has a booster button that will speed up the fan a bit, going try a cooling pad overall a good laptop I play warzone and fortnight on it and it runs good but it needs a ram and storage upgrade
