Artistes like him are born not to win competitions but the hearts and soul of people

One of my other favorites, Volodos, never bothered with competitions. I think they are a waste of time and, like the academy awards, the best seldom wins. I am grateful to youtube for discovering Bozhanov.

This is OUTSTANDING. His vision is so clear...as is his execution.

Competitions are utter BS. Bozhanov is one of my favorites - he always finds and brings out interesting things.Would love to hear him in concert some day.

Wow! Very lyrical! I've heard this piece many times, but in this performance, I heard things that I had never heard before. The clarity is intimate.

Bozhanov brings out a lot of interesting voices you don't normally hear...and he does it with impeccable taste as to what to emphasize.

26:28 dang he went for the chord left hand, sounds freshhhhh

As soon as he finished the opening chord section at the beginning of the fourth movement I thought he was going to fall off the bench!! xD So dramatic, but such a wonderful interpretation!
It's really deflating to hear (or not hear, as you wish) a dead audience after such a rousing performance.

actually, I like it a lot! his incredibly, unforgivably cheeky choices about what voice should be heard and when...it grows on you, quickly. Bravo. (the last 16 semis, quite sure they're not intervals or chords, but ... ok ;) )

I don't think they should allow mature Chopin pieces to be played by green-between-the-ears players.
