she had to be very strong, rhytmic gymnast demads to be a complete sportman, and in terms of body difficulties she was very very good, that combined pivot was not clean honestly but it was super hard to perform it demands a change in the vertical plane while doing the rotations :O

How ignorant some people are . Kanaeva's difficulties in all 4 routines are much higher than Bessonova. To gain super back flexibility, athletes like Kanaeva has to suffer much more than Bessonova in back injury. To gain higher difficulty they have to train more and risk more. Even for leap, Kanaeva's difficulty is higher for back arch. It's so annoying to see comments like 'Bessonova better' in every video of Kanaeva. It's video irrelevant of Bessonova.

@eastrun yeah I meant body line not flexibility and stuff. Anna's routines are more balletic, but Evgenia's are more contemporary. Anna has great leaps, no one can EVER beat her at that, but Evgenia has awesome pirouettes. The two of them are very closely matched.

Bessonova has only ever won me over because of expression and amazing jumps:\ nothing else, cos 4 example her pivots are just disgusting, her attitude pivots are looking like she's a dog pissing ina bush.. Zhenya, won me over with everything, she's so beautiful, has an amazing figure e.t.c you can tell in her face she's a fighter she worked so hard to get to the top! Beautiful performance bravo!

Look yeah... Anna bessonova's RELEVE was high indeed she was very stable. But the shape she's making in the pivot is awful!! That all I'm saying kanaeva is the best because she has the most complex routines\elements of all the gymnasts she is also very beautiful and graceful no one can say she isn't.

Kanaeva will be remembered as having scored the highest achievemnts in RG history has won a lot of fans , respect in RG world and if she wins another gold, that itself may never be repeated in RG history . bessonova will be remembered for what ? same delusional people, get over it and smell the current coffee she is gone and is a bronze medalist. that's it. even Kondakova has more medals Kanaeva is a hardworking gymnast and you bitter Bessonova fans is a LOSER like her Kanaeva is the Tsarina!

bessonova is beautiful and a gymnast that is loved of course but I can choose a hand full of elite gymnasts that are better than her if anna didn't have expression I don't think she would of even got 4th place I didn't count alot of things in her routine when I watched it..

Bessonova retired because she was too old already in 2010, she was about 24 years old that time. so don't accuse Kanaeva because she takes it by her merit who works harder than the overhyped Bessonova who always complained :/ btw alot of athletes are inured too Trofimova, Staniouta, Barezeko and Maksymenko is in terrible shape. I don't think Ukraine will podium at the Olympics and Bessonova imo was their last star, they have no good juniors compared to Bulgaria, Russia, Belarus even Italy

@LITTLEtallie To gain higher difficulty not to have better flexibility definitely need more training. Kanaeva has more difficulty in every aspects including leap and apparatus. When you are in competition, age is not a reason for credit. Lower difficulty means lower score. So, what's your logic to mention their ages?

I love bessonova her legs her jumps just amazing but she was not 'robbed'. You can not state an opinion as a fact 'she Was robbed whether you agree or not' as a judge I can tell you her scores were about right in fact she had alittle more points in some routines for instance her ribbon but I'm sure that was down to the artistry panel.

why ? because Zhenya is one of the most stable gymnast and elegant gymnast she earned her own merits and works very hard, and yes Im not just talking about all her gold medals but by her personality and kindness. Bessonova was a loser who always complained about getting underscored like most of her bitter fans go Bow to Zhenya the Queen ! I know more than RG than you who obviously cant see anyone but the overhyped Bessonova, she RETIRED, she will be remembered as a 2 TIME " BRONZE " Medalist.

Also. There are no russian judges. There aren't judges for the same country as the gymnasts I.e if there was a italian gymnasts taking part in the olympic games there will not be a italian judge judging.Everything is fair dere is a jury so its almost impossible 4 viner 2 cheat. @sikaivy i mentioned ages to point out to you that its not because Anna doesn't train as her that's why she does not have that amount of back flexibility. And Anna's routines had an equal difficulty level as Kanaeva. Bending your back into half does not necessary mean you have a higher difficulty. Anna has really hard apparatus, pivots and much harder leaps. they both started off with a total difficulty of ten points. so what right do you have to say that Anna does not train as much?!

I prefer personally Bessonova. She never hides her insecurity, joy etc.she is an open book (you can read every emotion on her face). But because she is playful in her style (like a child), she tends to get incorrect, hype, sometimes out of control. Zhenya is more perfectionist, more stable nature, she is more composed but at the same time more vulnerable. Judges prefer technical perfectionism, i prefer emotion and the playful child. Different people, different taste.

finally! someone who gets it! the judges are so biased with the gymnasts and no one sees it! it's so frustrating, anna bessonova is so much better than all of these gymnasts competing but doesn't get the title because of the judges! This is my opinion but I feel like Russia shouldn't always win these competitions! There are so many gymnasts 10x better than they are but because of the biased judges, they keep Russia in the lead. It's not fair!

And I no what a demi pointe is I'm a coach\judge and I'm telling you. There needs to be a reasonable distance from the floor and your heel that's all. Of cause if your heel is low like dmitrieva's heel always was in her 2008 routines the judge will not count this pivot and of course points off in execution
