Am I right in thinking that you can’t use the Floyd Rose fine tune to tune the E and that you have to undo the nut lock each time you need to tune the E when it goes out?
@ManotickGuitarTech2 жыл бұрын
No, you can use the fine tuner as long as it is in the middle of the range.

Hi. I've this same guitar. When I had it setup the shop said they couldn't get the bridge flat to the body.. and when I look, there's like a spring plate on the back which does seem to stop it sitting flat. How did you get this one flat as that wasn't shown in your video? Thanks
@ManotickGuitarTech2 жыл бұрын
That was almost 2 years go that I worked on the guitar... the bridge sat flat and I dont remember anything preventing it from doing so.

If I install this would I only be able to have the Floyd fully floating while in drop tuning and dive only when I use the d tuna to switch to standard tuning I really like the concept and I’m interested in getting one I just had this one question I need answered before I pull the trigger so to speak

I think you can if set up properly; however, I reckon it'll go sharp if you drop it to D.

This Wolfgang is a late 2002 model. Peavy stopped making the Wolfgang after 2004.
@UKSportsFan3 жыл бұрын
That was the exact comment that I was going to make. Peavey and Eddie parted ways at the end of 2004, and in 2007 EVH started his own brand in collaboration with Fender making the new Wolfgang..

I was going to install this with a tremol no so I can set my trem to float or dive only I had the misconception that you tune the guitar to standard tuning and use the d tuner to change to drop d but I found out that you tune to drop tuning then use the d tune to switch to standard tuning so I figured if you set the Floyd to float in drop d you would be able to pull up but when you engage the d tuner you would have to be in dive only mode I might just get it and do some experimenting to find out for my self and post my results I might also make a video I also saw you can leave it floating with a trem stabilizer so I’m thinking about experimenting with having a trem stabilizer, tremol no and d tuner installed at the same time to get full function of my Floyd while it’s floating andbeing able to use the d tuner to quickly switch between standard to drop d I can contact you once I made my findings
@ManotickGuitarTech3 жыл бұрын
This tremolo is not supposed to float on this guitar (factory spec and how EVH liked it) but of course you can experiment with it... let me know how it goes.
@bikerboi19832 жыл бұрын
@@ManotickGuitarTech there's no cavity to allow it to float is there? Can only dive.

Everything is in tune but when I play or bend the 6th string it gets out of tune, can you explain me why please?
@ManotickGuitarTech3 жыл бұрын
The D-tuna is quite finicky so you will find it needs fine tuning quite often. If your strings are new, you need to stretch them alot as well... this will help with the tuning stability.
@kh888ni3 жыл бұрын
@@ManotickGuitarTech all the strings are new but only the 6th gets out of tune when I play it. The guitar is brand new, it is a 2021 evh 5150 standard

The idea of the d tuna is super... I use it allot (live)on the Wolfgang special... But sometimes it's just a pain in the ass.. and it's slightly out of tune

I may be chasing an unachievable goal but I just got a WVH and I installed a DTuna on it. I tuned everything to with it in D, adjusted my E with the side screw but when I engage it from D to E some of the strings drop or go up a few cents (G and E usually) and I "have" to fine tune them with the fine tuners. Is this normal or should the D Tuna be able to switch without any change at all to the other string tunings? I do have the trem set level as I heard that could be a culprit.
@ManotickGuitarTech Жыл бұрын
Th D tuna should not affect any other strings other than the 6th string
@travis3656 Жыл бұрын
@@ManotickGuitarTech interesting. What do you think would be causing the other strings to go out a tad? Any ideas?
@ManotickGuitarTech Жыл бұрын
@@travis3656 check and make sure that all the strings are locked down in the bridge block tightly and that the nut lock is tight as well.
