Great theory. However, I’ve always thought that when Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, and Anakin died, they would replace the Force wielders on Mortis when they all died (Ahsoka=Daughter, Anakin=Son, Kenobi=Father). It just seems more fitting to me than Ezra and Kanan fitting in the roles.

Darth Maul would also be a good fit as the Son as well since he and Ahsoka fought to a certain extent, but I don’t see that happening because he’s obviously dead.

I just think Kanan is too doubtful in himself to maintain balance. I even feel like maybe Ezra was a bit of a bad influence on him for a while there. It was only just prior to Mail that Kanan was knighted and seemingly just in time for Kanan to step up as the master Ezra needed at that time. Now I feel like Kanan has discovered a new path, similar to Luke and Rey and how they only wanted to be with their friends. Obi Wan said thia to Ezra too.

Jack Fulcher IV I always thought that with 'the ones' dead Anakin would be the son (as he becomes Darth vader), obi wan the daughter (as he is a representation of the light side), and ahsoka being the father (as she becomes the first gray jedi)

That was a great video, Mike. But, I don't believe that Ahsoka, Kanan and Ezra would replace the roles of the Father, the Daughter and the Son. I personally believe that the 3 of them didn't truly die, they were just reborn into different beings across the galaxy.

I don't see Ahsoka being the daughter though. I think she's more balanced in the force now, like a Bendu. It is a very cool idea because like you said, the daughter is connected to Ahsoka. I really hope there will be some sort of Arc in the next star wars film for Ahsoka. She's a very cool character

Just to let you know, KinerBrothers (website of music composer for Rebels) releases 3 named OSTs for the second half of Season 4. The titles themselves were quite revealing, and they were removed from the website 6 hours after someone posted this new discovery on Reddit. I have salvaged the 3 removed audio files, and their names, if you need it. I’m thinking you might be interested in them, especially the last one (hint, shippers have gone slightly mad). Keep making great content! Love listening to your analysis and theories!

There is no reason for a new Daughter, Father and Son (the ones). When all three died balance was brought to Mortis. The reason we see the ones in Rebels is because they are letting us know now they were a real family. Most suspected they were a metaphor. That Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were just shown a vision. Now we know they were real. Filoni alludes to this when he was asked about the ones. He says they were a part of the Galaxy's folklore. They must have been around since the ancient Jedi. The balance to the force is going to be brought by Ben and Rey. The ones are no longer needed, but their story and symbolism is important.

When all three died, the balance within the force cycled into Enmity. That's why the galaxy is covered by the Dark side. -- The Father warned Anakin not to avoid taking his place. The Mortis arch was handled by GL himself, not many know this but Dave Filoni (Sup. Director) makes it quite clear.

I love the idea of Ahsoka Kanan and Ezra replacing the Daughter, the Father and the son. We know ezra’s Path could go either light or dark, and the fact that he approaches palpatine/Sidious without his lightsaber and sidious’s comment about Ezra being his at last. Perhaps Ahsoka was led to Mortis by the convoree via the mysterious “bridge” and awaits Kanan and Ezra there. The convoree along with the lothwolfs are possibly trying to bring Kanan and Ezra to Mortis. Ezra’s destiny could be to learn the dark side from Palpatine/Sidious and become the son. I can’t wait to find out what Filoni has in store for us!

The animals could be reincarnations of the Ones bringing a new concept into Star Wars but also help Ezra Kanan and Ahsoka become the new Ones. The giant Frynock from season 1 could be the Son, the Convor could be the Daufhter, and the Bendu or Giant wolf in the new rebels trailer could be the Father

Theory, Ezra leaves or dies or is presumed dead. Either way the rebels have to go on with out him right. There are the scenes in the trailer with Ezra without his saber and a scene where Sabine is seen wielding it. It's not an unreadable assumption that the rebels keep it after they "lose" Ezra. (however that may occur, and the Asoka novel showed leaving behind a lightsaber or two can be a great way to sell the idea that you died and are no longer a threat to the empire). Anyway my theory is with what happens to his saber after the series ends. I remember thinking at the beginning of season 3 that Ezra's new saber was very simulator to Luke's, what is this was by design? So the rebels kept his saber and this new Jedi kid comes along with his own saber, which is fine until he looses it in cloud city. The rebels have this perfectly good saber sitting there unused, why wouldn't they give it to him. They could hand it over saying something like "This belonged to Ezra Bridger a Jedi who was instrumental in the early days of the rebel alliance. He would want you to have this" Even if he modified it slightly or rebuilt it entirely it would be an easy new cannon explanation for how Luke got a green crystal for his new saber. Would be a great connection between Rebels and the Star Wars Moivies.

If this theory is true, the last episode called ”family reunion and farewell” could be connected to this. The family reunion part could be ahsoka meeting ezra and kanan and therefore reuniting the mortis family. And the farewell part could be ezra and kanan (if he’s still alive) saying goodbye to the ghost crew since they have to travel to mortis and become that new family

She came back to Mortis to replace physically the daughter. If ANYONE was going to replace the Force Gods from Mortis it would’ve been Anakin: Chosen One whom the Father proved that he was! Luke: The Son & Leia: The Daughter. Those 3 make so much more sense because of their power levels in the Force
@shadowcatcherfox51866 жыл бұрын
I've been kind of wondering about this too (without hearing about the Mortis Theory), though it seems to be a stretch. That said, if this is the direction the story is heading, the choices make sense. Ahsoka replacing the Daughter (since she was resurrected with her life force, that's an easy one.) Kanan taking the place of the Father (nice catch on the lightsabers in the duel in the Lothal Jedi Temple!) Ezra ... I don't really see him going Dark Side. But maybe he doesn't have to. Maybe instead of thinking Light Side vs Dark Side, we should go back to thinking Ashla and the Bogan. With the Daughter/Ahsoka the avatar of the Ashla. Father/Kanan the one in the middle. And the Son/Ezra the avatar of the Bogan. What's the difference you might say? We know the Ashla is connecting to the Force in a Zen like approach - passive, at peace, non-aggressive, etc. All the stuff Jedi are told how they should think before bedtime. I'm probably wrong, but I'm seeing the Bogan as the other way to connect to the Force - your emotions/feelings, your convictions, your determination. Now, there is a spectrum of emotions, from love to hate. Could what we call "The Dark Side" just be the part of the emotional spectrum that embodying anger, fear, hate? That's just a small subset of the emotions we can feel. What about love, conviction to do right? Those are feelings too, so why can't those feelings be used to connect with the Bogan side of the Force? Now, I'll say it's A LOT easier to act out of fear, anger, and hate. But a disciplined mind who has had the right life's lessons could learn to act out of love and goodness, and those are emotions just as powerful. But the Son wasn't disciplined, he found it easier to focus on anger/fear/hate, and just limited himself to that part of the Bogan. So imagine if the Son's replacement learned the lesson the Son did not, and connects to the Bogan with positive emotions? So if this Mortis Theory is sound, maybe that's the idea behind it.
@kimireneanderson96456 жыл бұрын
I thought the ones to replace the Mortis gods would be from live action. I believe the Force initially wanted Anakin and his twins, Luke and Leia, for these roles, but then, I thought Rey and Kylo could be the substitutes for the Son and Daughter, because of their unprecedented power and its seeming equality as demonstrated by the throne room struggle over the light saber.. It's a toss up as to who would take the Father's place, since Kanan is dead, and Anakin and Luke are now Force Ghosts, abd being that the Mortis gods were mortal, don't see that working out. The whole point of the Father sending out the 2000 year old Jedi distress call was because he was dying, and needed someone very strong in the Force. And according to the Father and the Daughter, the Son had always been drawn to the Dark side but hadn't fallen to it until recently. Another reason for thinking of Kylo would be that it would be a sacrifice for him and a way towards redemption, and if Rey's feelings for Kylo proved solid, she wouldn't let him take on this kind of isolating existence alone. Better a husband and wife than a brother and sister. The Son said he loved his sister, but maybe that was what pushed him to the dark. I mean, what a lonely world. It would also fit with the Yin-yan theme, Rey being mostly light-oriented, while Kylo oriented towards the dark. (As dark rises the light rises to meet it.) A substitute to replace the Father, might be Ezra, who'd be exactly Luke's age. I see Ahsoka as Grand Master of the New Jedi Order, a reason why Morai led Ezra to save her. With the leaks that Ezra and Ahsoka are to be in Episide IX, and Filoni conferring with J.J., I'm really excited as to how these creative people will work it all out.

The Ones are a type of demi-god.. at least that's what we would call them. They are actually venerated among different cultures; the Night sister's of Dathomir venerate both the Sister and Brother (Ashla & Bogan). Remembering that divine superstition isn't a part of the SWU (they don't actually believe in Gods). There was one member of the Family of the Ones that was absent, when Obi wan, Ashoka & Anakin visited. Anakin was also warned, that if he didn't take up his prophesied place among the Ones, that he wouldn't be able to bring balance to the force and great calamity would ensue instead. Ashoka is Ashla's Avatar. Her destiny is to ultimately bring back Ashla. However, the unbalance of the Force is tied up in the mother. Sidious ultimate goal was to control the force. Everything he did (controlling the galaxy, then weaponisinng it) was in order to have the power to control the 'One' Unbalancing it and through her, the Force. Thus was why he wanted Anakin to be consumed by the Dark side, so that he could never take up his true role and heal the mother. Her name is Abeloth and she has drunk from the wellspring of the light and dark side. Called the Pools of Knowledge & Power. She did this fearing to lose her family. The Father and the Mother are always the chosen among the galaxy. Always born. Mortal, with a pure connection to the force (highest midichlorians count). Her job is to nurture the natural flow of the Force, by moderating the fonts of the wellsprings. Thus correcting the Balance with the Father and nurturing the flow of the cosmic force. All that die, become part of the living Force, that feeds the Cosmic Force, that seeds life throughout the galaxy. That's the cycle. However, the force itself is Entropic by nature, it has cycles of Affinity (light) and Enmity (Dark). While the Jedi seek to harmonise with the Force and are it's Guardians. The Sith attempt to control it and incurr it's Wrath, the Dark side. Powerful Sith never allow themselves to be consumed by the Dark side, but it's always an ever present danger, always swirling around them. This increases as the cycle of Enmity waxes due to fear, anger and strife among life. Abeloth has both energies within her at once. It's not like connecting to either energy. It's like having the Force at war within you. There can be no balance to the Force until Abeloth is dealt with. As Ashoka will likely discover which will be a new thread canon in the SWU branching away from the Skywalker canon. Ashla gave Ashoka life, and Ashoka has brought about Ashla's rebirth outside of Mortis. However, the galaxy is covered by the Dark side. I think ultimately Ashoka will replace Abeloth. She is also extremely connected to the force. Not as strong as Anakin, but also not so big a difference, however she is wise enough to rely on her wits and not on the Force, thanks to Obi wan and Plo Kloon. Ahsoka's destiny within the deeper mysteries of the SWU is probably one of the coolest things in SW.

I am not sure what to think of this theory. (It’s interesting to think about) I assume Freddie Prince Jr.’s comments about Kanan being an important Jedi pertains to he was one of few to survive order 66 and that he was credited for helping Obi-Wan Kenobi with the idea of changing the information at the Jedi temple to warn fellow Jedi to stay away because of order 66. ( I believe the second point was from a cannon comic)

The only reason The Father took The Son and Daughter to Mortis was to hide them away from the universe. Mortis itself is not an important place, it was just hidden from the rest of the Galaxy hence the perfect place to hide the Son and the Daughter who if they got out of hand could imbalance the force. Since the Father , Son and the Daughter are all dead there is no reason to ever return to Mortis unless you need to hide force-users from the Galaxy who could cause imbalance to the force again. I believe the images we see of the father daughter and son in the season 4 Rebels trailer are a lesson to Ezra to show him the representation of the balance in the force no more. And it's an familiar visual to show the audience so they get it right away. My guess is that Ezra will become like Ahsoka and become totally balanced in the force and claim he he no Jedi at the end of the season. To be perfectly balanced in the force with light and dark transcends being a Jedi or Sith it's a higher level. And Kanan will probably sacrifice himself in order to save Ezra so that Ezra can achieve that perfect balance. When Yoda tells Luke he is the last of the Jedi in Return of the Jedi it will still be a truthful statement since Ezra and Ahsoka do not claim to be Jedis anymore.

Ahsoka's path diverges from the Skywalker's saga at this point. She's not interested in another political war (Alliance vs Empire). She has helped the Rebels (Alliance) as much as she can, being just one person. She confirmed what happened to Anakin, she can't do anything for him, but will now pursue how it came to pass that the chosen one could have been so consumed by the Dark side, why the dark side covers everything and what are Sidious's ultimate goals. The Emperor isn't just controlling the galaxy, he's weaponising it, why? What's he afraid of and what are his ultimate goals. All the answers are in the Force.

Kanan can't Save Ezra to embrace the Darkside? That could be Kanan's biggest failure of his life. But the question is who is gonna to save Ezra back to the light?. And is not Kanan. My guess is Sabine.. she is bold enough to get him back to the light as a matter of fact if Ezra leaves the Rebellion it could be sad that Sabine should've told Ezra for anything in the first place before He leaves. That could be Sabine's fault. Ezra needed get to past those Lessons as a matter of fact Ezra is still a young Padawan. Emperor Palpatine is trying to get in Ezra's head to push in the dark side as his servant? And I don't think that will never happen.. What if Darth Vader find out that the Emperor Palpatine is trying to set things up to betrayed him .Ahsoka is a good fit for the light with Mortis. Darth Vader didn't mention that Ahsoka is not dead.. Emperor Palpatine still thinks Ahsoka's dead.

I think there's no doubt that Ahsoka has a connection with the sister. I think it would be the perfect way to end her story, that she will stay at Mortis. But before she will stay at Mortis, i think she will meet Vader again. A final meeting between them. When you see the fight between Ezra and the Emperor you can see the invisible ways of this special world. So there the Emperor is only a vision. Ezra has to pass several lessons to get to Mortis and one of that is facing the Emperor. Thats my theory

My main objection is would be does Erza qualify as an avatar of the dark? And that is the thing that doesn't sit right with me. Just because someone has gone to a dark place doesn't mean they have the potential to be the embodiment of darkness. Now, if they were to go that route they'd need to show why the darkside is necessary and why it would be heroic for Ezra to take this aspect upon him. If they went at it from that angle it could be very interesting. If they were go that route I do actually think that Kanan is the best choice for the middle ground. Yes, Ashoka sees herself as more gray but I feel like that's more a side effect from breaking from the Jedi order rather than an actual reflection of who she is. Maybe I'd feel differently if I'd feel if I had read the Ashoka novel. Kanan tries to cling to the light but he struggles a lot. One place this can be seen is in his last fight with the Grand Inquisitor. While the Inquisitor is weaponless and hanging from the ledge Kanan put the lightsabers up the guy's neck, personally I see that as the act of a man contemplating murder.

After hearing some comments about Ezra and the dark son, I came up with an interesting theory that may or may not be possible. I think that Ezra is the reincarnation of the dark son, including that Sabine might be the reincarnation of the light daughter. You may notice her shoulder pad have that green owl on it, that could be sigh. And Ezra has the same chin and nose pattern of the dark son. Which is why Darth Sidous says "Mine at last!" because he knew Ezra is the reincarnation of the dark son and that he wanted Ezra to become his acolyte to rule the Galactic Empire by his side with Unlimited Power. The details on Wookiepedia about their deaths took place 20 BBY has to be a misinformation and that their deaths took place 22 BBY, which one year later, Sabine is born as the reincarnation of the light daughter, and the year after that, Ezra was born as the reincarnation of the dark son. Ezra will be control by Darth Sidious, as the dark son's powers begin to corrupt Ezra. Sabine would then go rescue Ezra, as they fought in a lightsaber battle as Sabine tries to get Ezra back to himself. Just when Ezra was about to give the final strike to Sabine, she uses the hologram disk to show Ezra with his parents to remind him who he is and pour all her heart to him, how he's still not alone and that he still has his friends, family, and Sabine herself as she tells him that she loves him, having surprise to hear that, she rushes in to kiss him on the lips as he kisses back. Sabine is now in Ezra's mind where darkness looms as she appears in her season one appearance as she approach Ezra in his season one appearance as she help him get to his true self. Then Darth Sidous appears to make Sabine pay for interfering. Ezra uses the Force to protect her and himself. With their feelings together and how strong they are, the light daughter and the dark son emerge out of Ezra and Sabine. This surprises Darth Sidous that he knew Ezra was the reincarnation of the dark one, but didn't know Sabine was the reincarnation of the light daughter. And together, the four of them use a mighty Force push to send Darth Sidous flying as he hit and scattered a dark dome for where they were, as they were now on Lothal's open fields. It's there Ezra sees the spirits of his parents one final time as he goes to them and Sabine follows him. Ezra introduces his parents to Sabine and she greets them happily to meet them. And it's reveal that Kanan brought them here with the help from the first Gray Jedis. After a short talk, Kanan, Ezra's parents, and the first Gray Jedis say their farewells to Ezra and Sabine as they all vanish, while the light daughter and the dark son were happily reunited together again as a tear shed from each other as they turn into orbs and fly off into the sky, leaving Ezra and Sabine the only two left as they kiss once again and return back to reality as Sabine wishes Ezra a Happy Birthday from before.

Eh, if it happens, it just seems like a cop-out alternative solution to them dying before the OT. Plus, I think it strays too far down the path of fairy tale and/or fantasy-granted, that's always been a part of Star Wars, but it's always been reined in by the more realistic aspects of the story. And the idea of Filoni turning his characters into Force demigods, as it were, seems simultaneously self-congratulatory and fan-ficky. Still better than Ahsoka being the wolf, but not by much.

LOL. No Anakin was the chosen one which was given the option to become the balance/father. as for what we know now. Ahsoka carries the daughters spirit which is why the green owl follows her. becuase she is now the daughter. kanan no, ezra, no

Don't get too hung up with theories that was part of the problem with TLJ reactions, people spent too much time crafting theories for stuff that did not matter to the story

Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka won’t become any of them. There should be NO REINCARNATION in Star Wars. That’s STUPID!

This is a long shot. So long in fact that it leaves me with not many words for or against it. This is a very weird concept indeed....with a few flaws of course: Ahsoka would rather be the "mother" for the two "sons". This might fit better. And yet Ezra knows that the dark side almost destroyed him. And other than that it also means that Ahsoka would become the "chose one" which contradicts with the original prophecy. This video had some conspiracy elements (especiall concerning the reddit post). Something I haven't heared from you yet but it's notthing I worry about. A video that made me think twice.....

Besides it would be a very abrupt good bye to all the others if Ezra just leaves: Ryder, Jai, Hera, Zeb, Rex (,Hondo?) and especially Sabine. And not to forget Lothal itself. This would need a lot of adaptation for Ezra to simply leave everything behind.

Nah they wont replace them. I think that there will likely be some strong allusion to Mortis, but nothing directly touching on it. Perhaps itll be Ahsoka / the convoree / the daughter leading Ezra through the spirit realm pathway we see him on, but i think that it would be bad storytelling to directly introduce some literal gods to Rebels so late in the franchise, only to have them instantly replaced by mortal characters. Also on a personal note - I wouldnt like Ezras character ark if he simply became "bad" and became the Son.
