I now live near the Carolina Bays.... When I was 12, my grandparents took me to lake Waccamaw. It's a very shallow lake and it stays pretty warm year round . That was my first introduction to the Bays ! People that live on the lake told me about the Bays and how there were hundred's of them ! They also told me about their elliptical shape. Another strange fact they talked about was that, there was strange flora found there ! In particular, a carnivorous plant....... The Venus Flytrap !! And that it was a native only to the Bays, and no other place on earth !! PS: Keep up the Awesome Work you do !!

Isn't it amazing how strongly the idea of a younger dryas impact is opposed. It's really strange. It's almost like we are forbidden to talk about it. And the resistance against the idea of a somewhat advanced culture that came before us. Very puzzling. Add in the destruction of historical artifacts by isis and i can't shake the feeling that there are people that do not want us to learn about our distant past, specifically, just before the ice age. And before anyone jumps down my throat, consider this: What would remain of us after a massive cataclysm? And would there be much left after another 12 to 13 thousand years?

Actually, it seems to me like EVERYONE is pushing the impact theory HARD. I do tend to think there was an advanced human civilization that was reset, however, I don't buy the impact theory. If asked, I can get into why (or just go visit Thunderbolts channel here KZbin). But my point was just to say that opposition does not necessarily mean something more than genuine disagreement. I really have no hidden agenda.

Actually is pretty normal. All or most new ideas concepts conjectures and theories are met with opposition. But accademic opposition is your best friend because they show you all the weak spots of your hypothesis and how to fix it. Thats why for me its dissapointing when a "scientist" rant against accademia. To me it only show how much of a fool he is dont complain, pull up the sleevers and get to work.

I have to appreciate how well-spoken and well researched you are in preparing for guests. It's clear that the guests start by introducing their ideas on the most basic level (probably because this is what they normally get stuck on, since their theories are never listened to beyond the first level) but then it becomes clear you are not only familiar with their work, but also have knowledge on peripheral work, AND you have synthesized that all enough to have relevant and thoughtful questions of their work. It's a lot different than listening to JRE lol

Please explain to our dear friend Antonio that it is impossible to instantly accelerate a chunk of ice to the astonishing speed of 2000 miles per hour without CAUSING TOTAL DISINTEGRATION OF THE EXTREMELY FRAGILE "ICE BOULDER." Any ice boulder that subsequently landed in North Carolina COULD NOT have been created by SPALLATION, the ejection of fragments resulting from Impact. Again, this could not have happened. Here is what did happen. A superheated meteor penetrated more than a mile below the surface of the ice shelf. This created an escalating "steam eruption" which gently dislodged and then progressively accelerating Antonio's well beyond Earth's atmosphere. PASS IT ON. PLEASE!

Until listening to this, I've only considered the massive floods ripping across the continent. Now I realize that hours or days before the floods, the mountain sized ice chunks coming down had caused horrific destruction! It was a one - two - three - four punch attack that destroyed the possible previously unknown high technology civilization and extinction level wiping out of Ice Age fauna! Falling ice mountains, terrain altering floods, suddenly rising sea levels wiping coastal cities around the globe, and a destructive "nuclear winter" that beat the survivors back into the caves to become cave men.

A word of caution. While I do accept that civilization goes back farther than we think we need to keep in mind that "advanced civilization" does not necessarily mean a high technology civilization. Even if there was a metal working civilization 12k years ago that was wide spread there would still be evidence in terms of mines etc. I personally think that any civilization that did exist at that time was a lithic based culture. An advanced civilization may be nothing more than a common culture with an understanding of the world
@refiii9499
@refiii9499 4 жыл бұрын
I feel why we don’t see or find these mines etc is due to the fact that during these days/ months or however long this hypothesis took effect their were multiple impact sites. We now know there were two definite sites in Chile and Greenland with Greenland possibly having a second impact just south east that was slightly smaller. So if the earth is getting bombarded over a period of whatever day, few days etc were A- having massive floods from the ice sheets up north totally filling in any mines along with removing all the earth’s dirts, lakes, trees etc stripping down to bedrock. B- massive fires all over the world burning up everything in sight. Look at Egypt something burnt everything there. They found melt glass throughout all the sands the huge statues burnt on one side but not the other total destruction everywhere. C- metal has a lifespan of say 300-400 years and that’s if it’s quality metal before it rusts away back into the earth. D- maybe there was mines and someone found them and they became so filthy rich they don’t want to tell anyone? E- massive tidal waves that we just can’t fathom in size. These are just a few ideas as too why we don’t find any type of ancient history. The only forms of existence is the megalithic sites throughout the world. And those sites that are made out of granite and all the hardest of rocks are all collapsing or are destroyed in ways. Personally I do feel that people do truly know what happened and for whatever reason they keep their mouth shut because they use the lets keep world peace rants etc. personally I feel it’s because they found whatever powered the pyramids or found the mines etc and are now duplicating it

@@refiii9499 not to mention the massive amounts of debris that a great flood would carry around with it, during the younger-dryas half of the north American continent was covered in ice, during the great flood, whether it be from a comet impact or a coronal mass ejection, all of those glaciers melted rapidly. All that water covered the Americas except for the highest points for days. Randall Carlson shows the massive ripples that look just like what you see in the bottom of a creek or river except on a massive scale. These are located all over the north American continent. I explain as best I can, but I'll admit I'm not nearly as eloquently spoken as Randall or Ben. North East of the tip of Vancouver Island is a landmass in the mountains. Randal Carlson has a theory that that site was the impact of a meteor upon the ice sheet. From all the remaining geography that I see... he is dead on the money. It was a really bad day on Earth. And the answers to the questions that surround the mass-extinction of the mega-fauna of that time. #Unchartedx is going to do more for the truth of our past than all the 'Requiem' nay-sayers in the world can duck, dodge, and contrive to hide from history. Hudsonlane well interestingly enough I just made a comment on another post that the ice core data shows 7 major events. The younger dryas is just part of a larger cycle. Idk take a look at the data and also look at where this event is in that data. You will see 3 almost evenly spaced climat changes. Up down up down up down then up to today’s current climate. Could be six separate impacts and the last one pushed us out of the ice age.

The killer facts are that these depressions are almost perfect ellipses, orientated in the same direction, have overturned stratigraphy and overlap in some cases. It's impossible to not conclude they are "shotgun" style meteor impacts, all within a limited timescale. Supersize impact craters like Hiawatha (32 Km wide) date back to the same time. There are 120 cultures around the world, from Australia to Greece that record a Cataclysm which basically shut down the time of "The Gods" (I am not going to speculate who "the Gods" were) and everything pretty much had to start again from scratch.

The internet and its offspring, ie Google Earth etc, offer a tool for members of the "unwashed masses" to question the accepted history of humanity. With a few keystrokes and clicks on a mouse we have access to imagery that would have made an analyst at the National Reconisence Office drool in the early 60s. This imagery on the plus side can be used for careful thoughtful analysis as it is here. The down side is the nutcases amongst have access to the same imagery. I remember the pre-Marineer days when we imagined Mars going through seasonal changes with flourishing life. Then the first Marineer images came in showing impact craters. The explosion of imagery from satellites, deep space probes and the deep sea here on Earth has revolutionized our view of the Universe. It's possible that in my life we will go from decent maps of the Moon using ground based telescopes to direct imaging of extrasolar planets. At the same time we are gaining new understarding about the ground beneath our feet through the analysis of data from seismometers into the very structure of the Earth.

Ben, please pass this tidbit to Mr. Zamora. In 1979, Chester Arthur Davis of the Physics Dept of Marietta College published "Missile the Creator" Library of Congress No. 79-72154 in which he postulates quite convincingly the same origin for the Carolina Bays and the resulting of megatons of ice and water into the atmosphere with the concomitant impact on the megafauna and the Younger Dryad climate. I am not a Geologist, but a Geographer and therefore in no position to judge the validity of either gentleman's argument. However, I do believe the preponderance of the evidence justifies their conclusions. The book is not a religious tract as maybe inferred by the title, although I believe the author was a man of faith. And it appears to be "self-published." It is, however, thoroughly researched and solidly grounded in science. I have been unable to trace down any reviews of it, nor an I aware of how many copies were printed. It was priced at about $10.00 on Amazon when I found it at the Friends of the Library Book Warehouse in Knox Co. Ohio. I would be very interested in discussing it with anyone else who has come across it. It took decades for Hapgood's Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings to resurface and be reprinted. I belive this book deserves a second look.

I exchanged a brief email with Antonio, he's ordered the book. Thanks for the data! Quoting Antonio from his email: "The date (1979) of the book indicates that the author probably was not aware of the Nebraska Rainwater Basins since they had not been discovered yet. Also, this was before LiDAR, so I don't know if or how he may have tested the bay geometry or if he postulated the liquefaction of unsaturated ground. If he worked in the physics department, he may have been able to calculate projectile size from crater diameter, but these equations were published only in the mid 1970s, so he would have had to be at the cutting edge of impact physics. There have been several previous publications proposing various impact mechanisms for the creation of the Carolina Bays. Melton and Schriever (1933), Prouty (1952), Eyton and Parkhurst (1975). Randall Carlson mentioned the idea of an ET impact on the Laurentide Ice Sheet and secondary impacts by glacier ice in one of his 2008 lectures, but he never followed up on it."

Review of "Missile of the Creator" by Chester Arthur Davis, 1979 I bought this book after learning that the author proposed that the Carolina Bays were created by impacts of ice ejected from the Arctic ice cap by a comet impact. Unfortunately, the book disregards scientific facts and makes preposterous claims that can only be categorized as fiction. I had the impression that the author was a physicist, but the back cover describes him as “a technician in the Physics Department of Marietta College”. Mr. Davis claims that Hudson Bay in Canada is the site of a comet impact. His description of the impact is more like a train wreck than the almost instantaneous transfer of energy of an extraterrestrial impact. He describes the comet pushing a mass of ice that skids across the surface of the crust. He disregards deposits classified by geologists as moraines and suggests that they are impact “fallout” features. Some of the more outlandish claims in the book are that the comet impact gave rise to the Rockies and the Andes, that Africa rotated by 23 degrees, Antarctica rotated by 25 degrees, and that the Grand Canyon walls were deformed by the extraterrestrial impact. In the introduction, Mr. Davis notes that portions of the book bear similarity to Velikovsky’s books, but he says that the dates that he proposes for the events differ by many centuries. The book is a typewritten manuscript that was not competently proofed and contains some grammatical and spelling errors. A. Zamora 7/23/2019

@Dirty Magic11 I don't even believe that the Carolina Bays was a relatively small impactor. They say that Saginaw bay is the 'crater' but i think that's just the region of deepest excavation. You want to propel empire state building-sized ice boulders, over THAT long of a distance (remember, even parts of Florida are bays) i think you need a HUMONGOUS impact. But maybe the power behind the suggested explosion has more 'oompf' because of the ungodly amount of water instantly vaporizing. That'll help propel stuff outward.
@insanebmxthomas
@insanebmxthomas 4 жыл бұрын
@Dirty Magic11 you're denying that carolina bays are impact structures? There are at least three smoking guns; They are perfect elliptical conic sections with a stable ratio of around 0.60 ellipticity. They are radially aligned to a convergence point. At that point, there just happens to be a known suspected crater; and the entire Michigan basin bedrock there has been stratigraphically altered and lowered. (Niagara escarpment, look it up; crazy!). And a smoking gun i've been making a little database of myself; on many carolina bays, on google earth, you can spot a center/area where obviously the projectile has its resting place. You can see a circular discoloration/depression in many of the really green bays. Its easy to spot and they're always located in rougly the same aft portion of the bay. Just look at north/south carolina on gmap, and you'll see HUGE river channels where now only a tiny stream flows Which are still huge rivers to us. The scale is unimaginable. I really don't think there is any point arguing the origin of the carolina bays at this point. I will send my database to Antonio Zamora but he's essentially proven that he's right. By what mechanic does the sun create perfect elliptical conic sections with the exact same width to length ratio?

👏👍💯🌠🌎💥🌟💥Great episode! The topic nearest and dearest to my heart of the study of the past. Graham Hancock and his work with the great Randal Carlson was my greatest satisfaction at seeing the truth come to the publics knowledge. I back-tracked the Carolina Bays some years ago. Once I found Randal and his Geocomixrex site... it was all over with. Although I did not calculate the rotation of the Earth and flight time for the impacted projectiles to land at the Carolina coastal areas... I did take into account that that must have taken time. Still, the ellipses trackback to a specific point. The projectiles must have been comprised of Ice and earthen materials that held together long enough to reenter and collide with the ground. Now we know about the Hiawatha crater. And it is reported that there are more than Hiawatha crater upon the surface of Greenland. Ice slippage on the water between the rock and the ice makes more sense than most people realize. Yes, the requiem was an insult to anyone that has ever studied the facts, the evidence, the truth. Everyone that stood against the 'norms' of the day. Those researchers did the discipline of sciences a great disservice. No! They did a huge disservice to the study of facts. Nothing points to a greater destruction of the public trust of evidence from noted researches. Thank Randal Carlson, Graham Hancock, even Robert Schoch... although his electro-magnetic plasma arches upon the surface of the Earth holds some interesting theories. We will see. Great video! Sounds like me talking to my very uninterested neighbors about these things I believe and they just do not care. But, you are onto it. The land area North East of the Northern tip of Vancouver Island shows an area that looks to me to be the impact point of a meteor upon the ice-sheet covering that area. How else could that be explained? The draining of the remains after the impact would look exactly like the geography shows us. I am so proud of you for doing this. I hope the world comes to understand the truth. And if you get them to do so then you deserve to be recognized for having been instrumental for having been the one that did. Peace, 🍄🍆🤴💩🤡>>>🚽 🌊2020🌊🔥💣💥🌟✨🌈🤗🎉💃🎶👯‍♀️🎼👏👍🙌😎

Kevin K. Got a question, there was an event that knocked the planet back into the depths of the ice age, then an event that took us to present temps correct? I’m just trying to understand was there one event or two? By the looks of the ice core data there looks like about 7 major events . Idk the younger dryas event is very interesting but it seems to me to just be a small part of an even larger event. Idk I too talk about this with people who look at me like I’m speaking Spanish lol

@donte wikman, While most of the research has been on the 2 major impacts that occurred during the Younger Dryas event ( one at the start, one at the end ), Graham Hancock did talk about the great possibility of multiple impacts occurring during the entire span. That being said, one must also realize that the sun may have also experienced impacts during that time span which may have triggered CMEs and/or plasma discharges. Everything all together, it was NOT a pleasant time to be existing on the surface of the Earth. Ancient Native American lore ( in the Four-Corners Region of the U.S.A. ) describes a race of underground dwellers who led the Indian peoples down into subterranean chambers to keep them safe from the destruction that was occurring on the surface of the planet. The Indians were told that they would be sheltered underground until it was safe to go back up to the surface . The Younger Dryas Event lasted @ 1300 years.

Well to be fair the fact that over 75% of the North American megafauna that went extinct (we still have North American megafauna) before humans even arrived on the continent is and was always a scientific argument against the overkill hypothesis. Doesn't mean an impact did it either as we lost the North American Horse but the American Bison is still here to this day. Both were grassland feeders. It's most likely a result of climate change with humans coming along later and putting additional hunting pressure on what was left. We still had Mamoths on Wrangel Island about 4500 years ago. Thats not to say that the Carolina bays were not from an impact but Antonio only ties them to the Younger Dryas as he needs a impact source. There is no dating done that ties the Carolina Bays to a Younger Dryas formation.

I'm glad to have had a chance to hear Mr. Zamora describe his hypothesis in detail and in his own words. I'm always leery of second hand information. He has obviously put a lot of research and thought into it and seems to have addressed all of the evidence, making a very convincing argument. No disrespect to Mr. Zamora as I am not claiming he is wrong, but I think there could be another explanation as I have actually witnessed oval depressions in the ground forming right before my eyes. They were much smaller than the Carolina Bays, but Randall Carlson has stated on many occasions that the erosive effects of water are scalable. What I saw were ovals forming by water coming out of the soil while surface water flowed over them. The oval shape was in alignment with the flow of the surface water. Unfortunately this only occurs in the spring when snow is melting and rain is frequent and I will have to wait until next spring to make more detailed observations. At first I thought the raised ridge around the bays precluded this method of formation as the surface water would have carried sediments away preventing the ridge from forming. Then I learned how much force is required to move even a relatively small stone along with the fact that river banks are often higher in elevation than the surrounding terrain due to the fact that the heaviest sediments are laid down along the river bank during a flood. My own hypothesis is that the bays were caused by water traveling under the ground while the glaciers in North America were melting off. Much of that water would have penetrated the soil and travelled under it while water also flowed over the top. The areas were the bays are located are generally underlined by clay which water doesn't penetrate so easily, forcing the water to the surface in those areas while floodwaters flowed over the surface. If the waters coming up from below were under more pressure than the water flowing over it sediments too heavy for the surface water to move would have accumulated around the place where the underground water emerged forming the surrounding ridge. The fact that the bays seem to only be present in North Carolina's coastal plane may be due to the fact that the elevated bedrock of the more mountainous western part of the state prevents the water from flowing under the soil in any significant amount preventing the formation of bays there. So far North Carolina is the only state I have looked at and I have yet to locate surficial maps that would indicate the depth of the soil to help test the feasibility of this idea. In other words, I have more work to do and I intend to do it. Thanks for the great work you do Ben. You're doing a super job and I enjoy every one of your podcasts. I would also like to thank Mr. Zamora for appearing on your podcast and explaining his hypothesis. As I stated previously I am not claiming he is wrong, I'm just suggesting another possibility based on my own first hand observations.

I just took a quick look at South Carolina and Georgia on Google Earth. It's obvious that the bays are much more common in S.C. than N.C. or Georgia. Very common in fact. But again, I'm only seeing them on the coastal plain, nothing further inland. Wouldn't the chunks of ice strike inland too? Even if the soil were more firm there the ice should have been hard enough, heavy enough and had enough velocity to leave some sort of scar, but I'm not seeing any. I do see evidence that the landscape has been scoured by large amounts of water, which isn't unusual as I see that virtually everywhere on Earth. Seriously, as I look at the bays in the Galivants Ferry/Ketchuptown S.C. area it truly reminds me of the effect I saw this past spring. Also, look at the alignment of the five bays northwest of Galivants Ferry. I find it hard to believe that random impacts would align themselves that way, but I can imagine conditions where water just might do it. The ovals I saw did overlap in places too, just like some of the bays.
