The name for the color of your car is Bamboo Beige. I purchased the exact car in same color and year in 1988 in Colorado Springs at a Porsche Dealer for $18000. The car had 34689 miles at the time. We ultimately sold it around 2001 for less than $10000. When sold it had approximately 280000 + miles without a rebuild. Best car we ever owned. With that said during ownership I currently had a 77 targa and 68 911T along with several other cars. But of all the cars the 81 SC was the best never a problem. So continue to enjoy

That is such a nice story. It's sad how by 2040 they will or not ban gas cars.. the emotions that a car brings can't compare to the simple electric cars. I hope that i will be able to own such a car.

@@THEXPROFESSOR 2040 is very far. In 2040 you will not find one electric car on the street anymore. They will be extinct. The second time.

@@olafzuberbuehler3015 I've been saying the same thing. Time will prove us correct. Eventually more will see the truth of this. Right now, they can't look at the issue objectively.

Yes the car is inspirational. I might argue that the video is equally good--storytelling is priceless!

My favorite part, is that it has 200k miles and counting! A car doing what it was designed to do... and a Porsche does it really good!

The part at 0:33 gives me goosebumps. I have a 991.1 C2 and there are some nights I'm lying in bed and can't sleep and will literally run down to the garage and go for a drive in my pajamas in the dark. If you own a 911 try taking it out late at night, turn off the stereo, turn on PSE (if your generation has it), turn on Sport Plus (if your generation has it), open the sunroof (even if it's cold and possibly even moreso if it's cold), and this might sound weird but go for a nice gentle cruise and listen to that engine. Once your engine and tires are fully warmed up and you've done a nice windy section, park it alongside the road like this with the engine running and the headlights cutting through the dark and just take a moment and listen to the sounds of the pings and creaks as the exhaust cools and smell the hot tires and brakes. You will really feel connected to your car. Never forget that the 911 was meant to be driven. Keep the revs high, get it dirty, and take someone close to you for a drive to somewhere neither of you have ever been.

Great car and a great video. I'm so glad to see an enthusiast who is passionate about driving their car. I've been a car buff since I was a small boy and have always loved cars. It is sad to see such great cars (or motorcycles) that only have a few miles on them. Porsches, Ferraris, Jaguars, Astons, Maseratis, Alfas, Ducatis, and so many more, were designed by passionate people for the purpose of driving them. To see low mileage examples just hurts. Keep driving and enjoying your 911.

Ryan, excellent video! I’m from Cincinnati and recognized many places in your video. I have an 83 911SC Cabriolet. Slate blue. Love the hills of Cincinnati and the countryside around the city. You totally get it! More of a quirky citroën lover myself, but this is what porsche was always about. No hysterical transformation into a hypercar, just an elegant nimble sports mobile for everyday use. This is so preferable to the new nonsense. Enjoy it!

Cool vid thx for sharing. I'd paint the headlight rings black to match the mirrors, wheels & trim, they're not subtle being the only chrome on the whole car. I prefer Fuchs wheels, but I understand wanting to be unique, however, I think that color is already unique enough ha!
