Evil Dead 2 was the first Sam Raimi film I had seen off of VHS. It was a great experience for sure, I couldn't stop my loud laughing. I was told to keep my laughter volume down because it was late at night while the family was trying to sleep. It's now a good memory.

The Evil Dead Musical was bloody hilarious. Great songs, callbacks to the trilogy, and lots of blood if you sit in the splash zone.

My first experience of the series that changed me forever and embedded my love for it. Me and a guy in middle school were laughing about it so much we got in trouble 🤣

It's impossible not to laugh out loud while this movie is playing. If you are feeling down, I would prescribe this movie ... along with the original Three Stooges shorts.

I love how in your intro the ladies doing aerobics get covered in blood, that's definitely an 80s movie that should have been made Featuring Bruce Campbell And the Necronomicon And Deadites And a soundtrack by 45 Grave and The Cramps ❤

"Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn" was a repeat rental at our house back in the day. In my humble opinion, it belongs in the list of top ten best sequels of all time (although where on that list it would fall will likely vary from person-to-person). It's funny, when this movie was noted to be the one covered during last week's closing, the first thing that popped into my head was the scene from "High Fidelity." Fantastic entry! Here comes episode 40! Cheers all!

When I Bought Evil Dead 2 On DVD At Circuit City Before It Closed Down And When I Got Back Home To Watch It I Was Like Oh My God It's Both Funny And Scary At Same Time. Now I Have All Three Evil Dead Movies On DVD And Then I Watched The Evil Dead Remake On TUBI Two Years Ago And Ash Vs Evil Dead On Starz Before It Got Cancelled But As For Evil Dead Rises I Haven't Seen It Yet. In Closing The Evil Dead Franchise Is Still Going Strong.

Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness mainstay as some of my favorite horror movies of all time, even as a Michigander like their director. They influenced my work on horror-comedies; hell, Sam Raimi's filmography/use of practical effects gave me proper inspiration for developing my joint project for Disney Plus with Capcom's involvement Assassin Virtue 360 Degrees(and it's prequel featuring Jack's rival Arsene Lupin/Alvis LeBlanc as the main character), my concept for a Devil May Cry movie, and an ideal trilogy tied to horror(the first of which dealing with a teenage girl and friend of the protagnist's deceased wife getting inflicted with lycanthropy from a cult, jerkass college students turned heroes working with a girl and two adults on surviving an alien-zombie apocalypse, and two vampire clans feuding over a human woman her fiancée and a retired comedian salivate over, and decide if she would be their wife). Also, I await Michael Jackson's Thriller having a video on this channel. It's been 40 years since the music video released, so there.

The Evil Dead franchise has no bad movies and the show is amazing. Probably the only horror franchise that has no duds in it. To me it's the greatest horror franchise ever and still growing. Even the remakes and spin-offs are really good. A little more horror than comedy, but still really good.

Scream is also extremely consistent, I'd argue Nightmare but unfortunately Freddy's Dead and the Remake are irredeemable lol

The first time I watched the original evil dead after purchases the VHS Ina pawn shop. (I was 10 years old and i had already seen ED2 and AOD) I lived Ina cabin/farmhouse with no electricity or running water. The TV was powered with an inverter and car battery the rest of the house had generator power. Which would be on occasionally. Anyways i was home alone watching it I got 2/3 through it before the generator died and the house went black and quiet. My TV remained on and proceeded to die just after the infamous tree scene . So I found my alone desperately having to use the restroom which was an outhouse located down a windy path of snaking branches. Ya I stayed in all night and almost peed myself. True story happened to a freind of a freind of mine

I seem to be strangely connected with this crazy series I was born in North Carolina (in 1982 of all years just one year off from the classic original) I still live in a small town in NC just a few short hours drive from where Raimi and gang made the first two and it just so happens that the local Drive-in decided to do a horror double feature a few years back so i got to see both on the big screen with my lovely wife

This was my favorite evil dead movie until Evil Dead Rise came out. The special effects, the camera techniques, and the crazy characters were awesome. A great showcase of Bruce Campbell's talent and Sam raimi's style. And Ted Raimi was a trooper sweating in the Aunt Henrietta suit.

@@markusforsberg6741 why you gonna 🛖 on someone for their opinion and preferences? They're talking about their favorites....not yours. Also, your comment makes no sense in the context of theirs. How would ED2 be their favorite movie until ED1 came out?

See me I saw evil Dead 2 first then I saw army of darkness finally I saw the original evil Dead. So I saw him in technically sequence but with the first movie last. And I still love all three of them and two is the perfect balance between her and comedy where three is the comedy and one is the horror so it's like that perfect transition between the original and army of darkness without evil dead too you kind of go from straight evil and horror to too much comedy you need that part 2.

i must say i much prefer Raimi's original 1981 low budget Evil Dead than his direct requel Evil Dead II. the former is a true horror movie. yes, Evil Dead II still has an effective horror scare, but he also added slapstick that makes the horror experience disjointed. and its sequel, Army of Darkness, doesn't feel like a horror movie at all... more like a monster fantasy film. i'm glad the 2013 remake and the 2023 anthology sequel retain the horror roots.

I dont care, to me Evil Dead II is the better version of its successor and will never be really a "sequel". Im all good rewatching part 2 over and over again without even touching the original again. Evil Dead II is one of my perfect top 5 80s horror movies, hands down.
