I heard Michael Keaton said he would only return to the Beetlejuice role if the effects were practical & not CGI, because it's more fun making movies that way.

I love Beetljuice, as well. But, you know what I find ironic about this movie. Beetljuice is hardly in his own movie. Let's hope he gets more screen time this go around. But, then again, maybe 🤔 that was the magic of the first one. The right amount of Beetlejuice . Still, I'd like to see more of him.

In spite of his relatively small role Glenn Shadix delighted me so much when I saw Beetlejuice as a kid and when I finally got to meet him several years later he was as nice and funny as I always thought he would be. He will be missed in the sequel.

I just let my 10 year old daughter watch Beetlejuice for the first time 3 days ago. She has watched it 6 times in a row so far. Last night she watched the dinner possession scene 5 times before letting the movie continue. This is a timeless classic and treasure.

"Beetlejuice" - saw it three times in the theater as a middle-school kid! Absolutely loved it! Between this, "Lucas," and "Heathers" - I had (have) a decades long crush on Winona Ryder! Loved the Danny Elfman score to this one as well. Looking forward to the (long overdue) sequel later this year! Episode 43 and counting! Keep 'em coming guys! Looking forward to next week's entry ("How sweet! Fresh meat!"). Cheers!!!

@@eborgannYes, I am aware of Oingo Boingo. I am talking about when he started scoring films. Yes, "Pee Wee's Big Adventure"(which is one of my favorites in my vast library of Elfman scores, along with "Edward Scissorhands", "Night Breed", "Darkman", "Batman Returns" and of course "Beetlejuice") was his first Tim Burton film. When he scored "Batman" that's when the door opportunity in the realm of film blew wide open.

I was a kid when my parents took me to see Pee Wee’s. My uncle had already seen it and told my mom there was a scary scene. Because of that, when the truck scene happens my mom covered my eyes. That was ONE of the first times in my life a movie scared me. I wish she would have just let me watch, because it wouldn’t have been near as traumatic as what my young mind thought up. To this day I can’t bring myself to watch the scene. I have no clue what she looks like, and I’m too scarred to check it out. Thanks Uncle Carey and mom

I know not too many people saw it, or if they did many didn't like it, but I liked "Pee Wee's Big Holiday". It had much more charm that is reminiscent of the original than other legacy sequels we can all think of. So I'm optimistic for "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice".

In Queensland Australia, where Warner Bros Movie World amusement park is, they once had a Gremlins ride. You're ushered in a small theatre to watch some history documentary about Warner Bros studios and then a park assistant comes running in screaming that the gremlins have taken over, and we get in the ride "a car on a track" and we're taken through multiple sets that the gremlins are doing what they do best, causing havoc and wrecking film archives and offices of the studio. And its BEETLEJUICE who makes a cameo in the ride that electricutes the gremlins, the gremlin threat is dealt with. At the exit of the ride you're greeted by a singing Gizmo sitting atop of a Police Academy cop car 😄t'was a fun childhood experience for me, a fan of both films.

This is easily one of my favourite films ever made, I've seen it so many times and never get bored of it, it's bursting with charm and quirkiness, I adore it. I'm really really NOT looking forward to the sequel though, I'm hoping it captures the same vibe the same tone and despite some of the actors from the first film having since passed away or, ahem, something else (cough cough Jeffrey Jones cough cough), the same level of performances that the first one had, I just can't shake the feeling it's going to be woke as hell and ruin the first films legacy. Woke propaganda has no place in this movies world and yet nearly everything that comes out this last few years is riddled with it, mostly due to the films detriment. Prove me wrong Tim Burton...PLEASE prove me wrong....Just give us the sequel we deserve and have waited so long for.

As long as the new one isnt woke, im totally on board. That is, no race / gender swapped characters, no mandatory fat black lesbian that's the smartest person on the planet that makes all the white characters, especially the men, look like idiots. Just tell a good story, in the same world, without pushing a DEI message, and we're golden.

I must admit that I am not excited about a sequel to a classic, perfect movie. However, Michael Keaton is not known for going for the easy cash grab, otherwise Beetlejuice 2 would have happened years ago. I honestly think that they must have shown Burton, Rider and Keaton an amazing script. I do not have high hopes, but I am not going to start throwing rocks.

I hear ya, Tyler. Tim better stick with the practical effects with the new one. I havent enjoyed his work for a while. The last two Burton films I did enjoy was Sleepy Hollow and A Nightmare Before Christmas. Everything else got saturated in CGI and too much colors. Burton's OG style is gothic and quirky. He needs to return to form.
