@@nicob6802 @nicob6802 To be more specific, ideally, rax first in main near CC with a good sim city (zealot tight hole that marines can walk through) is a good start. After that I'm too noob to know the ideal build. Most likely, a second rax is ideal as a follow up. The sooner you build it, the better. But again, i noob. A better player may be able to confirm the ideal follow up.

I will be honest -- one thing I've never liked about Starcraft's design is that using an early worker just for scouting is such a hit to your economy that most players, even pros, consider it not worth doing. Which opens up build-order losing from RNG like this. I've always felt that RTS should be designed where you have access to early "scout" units that aren't workers, so this opportunity cost isn't a thing. Even something as simple as one starting worker that has its mining ability disabled.

I get your point. Some RTS games have free scouting (like AoE). Not necessary a bad idea. However, in StarCraft nothing is free. If you want information, you pay the price. In this particular case, even if you scout 2 proxy gate while you are going CC first, what are you going to do? You are still dead. Scan threw the dice with this build. First game did not pay off. Second game, yes. This is (part of ) the game.
