Ai has come pretty far compared to the vocaloid voice banks of old. My personal favorite voice voice bank (for studio ACE I think) is Qi xuan which apparently uses AI to get a more human feel. Kikuo has been getting a lot of use out of her voice

In my experience some songs are waaaaaaay more affected than others, some having no effect at all, or very rarely, even sounding better. Also, I kinda "fixed" this song by listening to it more loud than usual, on a "good" headset, while paying attention to it; only the chorus sounds empty now and out of tune. So this kind of stuff can get fixed if you're lucky.
