I wouldn't say it makes the Soul's max power useless. It's primary use, from what I've seen, is to get that partner Resurrection. Sure, the having them both on screen at once to fuck with people is also a selling point, but if you just want that res without risking losing your partner again by flopping a combo and eating a super to kill them, seems pretty good to get the res and keep them on standby.

One good thing that Capcom did with this game was that every character is good for stand alone situations and there isn't much difference in their tiers. Sure characters such as Dormammu and Jedah are indeed good because of their mobility but outside of that, this is pretty much the only MvC title that makes Ryu useful against Top tiers such as Morrigan and others stated above. UMvC 3 was broken and MvC 2 was even more broken but this game is very balanced and the Gameplay scenes are not dominated by just a few characters

Nothingness fits Ryu better, perhaps it will be the power to match the satsui no hado without going crazy, Gouken had it and he could stand up to Akuma.

But that would make no sense. Power of Nothingness isn't something that can be overcome, it's something that has to be actively worked for years to be be achieved. Evil Ryu is not capable of achieving Nothingness in any way or form, so it would make most sense for it not to manifest at all.

Reminds me why I stopped watching. True story. I saw him play SF4. He was playing as T-Hawk and was playing against a Ken. The Ken played like a tourney player would. Hit confirms, Kara-Throws, Ambiguous cross ups, nailed all of his BnB's etc. Phil gets dominated and proceeds to crap on the Ken player for being a scrub. That Ken player was legit one of the best I've seen online. That's when I stopped watching DSP.

sad that so many people still hate on this game and wish for its downfall. I was hesitant to get it at first just cause of all the bad talk, but eventually made up my mind and ended up buying it and I Have to say that I'm really really loving the game. If all the haters actually tried out the game I bet anything they would turn into fans. The weakest part by far is still the character roster, but other then that I have no problems at all.

Here's a scary thought; what if the Wily Virus (the one Zero was infected with, and passed on to Sigma) was an attempt at making a synthetic version of the Satsui No Hado? Reploids have DNA, and by Megaman Legends (which takes place after the Megaman Zero series, which in turn takes place after Megaman X5) they've crossbred with humans to the point that nobody makes any distinction between them. Evil Ryu would essentially be the first Maverick, given that Akuma has all his marbles, or... at least a very large collection of them speaking in relative terms.
