I personally *love* the longer episodes. I don't think there's any real worry of wearing a viewer out as they can always just pause and pick it up later. You can always take a break and come back if it's long, but you can't get more if it's short, so imo longer is better. I'm straight-up feeling spoiled by all these hour+ episodes, it's awesome.

I appreciate you! 300hours in and I learn something new with every video. At the same time, you are explaining things very clearly for people new to the game. No gatekeeping, just gameplay and vibes. Longer episodes work for me, but you should just do what you find works best for you! Been watching for nearly 2 years, and it is great to see your channel grow with the 1.0 release. Keep it up. If you have trash diving it's good to visit every ruin or village that pops up, even if you just leave immediately, as it removes it from the pool of secrets you can discover.

I am a little surprised you didn't take a second to explain for the new guys why the scratched vents hole is so bad without corrosive gas. Basically they are a whole bunch of spawners that send out Chute crabs that gets bonuses to attack rolls and penetration for each one that gets next to you. They build up really fast and can block off your escape very easily, overwhelm you and chew you to pieces. Definitely very much a run ender for most people going through there that stick around for too long or get unlucky. EDIT: Another tip for people going to Kyakukya the Mushroom roofed ape village to get the Corpus Cholys book. While you are there and the disease still hasn't kicked in, go to the clay oven and eat the chunky cider there, it will give you a +3 to your disease saves so you might just get lucky and shake it off before anything sets in. Also I can't believe how many times this run nearly ended this video, omg!

I've been really enjoying your videos! I haven't played any Qud but the itch is strong to pick it up after watching this series. It's always a bit of a gamble with lets-play folks whether I'll like their narration/style/humor but you nail all of them. relaxing (non-jarring/non-yell-y/non-bigoted), good audio quality, sometimes weirdly funny, thorough, informative. Love the longer episodes, as a new player I really like seeing you move around the map as well, cuts in the video can be confusing for beginners.

I like the hour-long episodes. I watch on x1.5 speed, so watching an hour-long episode only takes 40 minutes for me. If you want to see if you can Bask, look at your Bask ability in your skill bar, not the time indicator in the upper right. They are not properly synched, so you can start basking a few hours before the sun comes up, and can't bask while the sun is setting. Time Dilation is way better than you think. Giving an enemy -50 QN is the equivalent of doubling your own QN (because they will only act half as often as before). So if you have 200 QN, and you inflict -50 on an enemy with normal QN, it's the equivalent of increasing your own QN to 400 (VS that enemy, anyway). If you give the enemy -80 QN, it's like multiplying your own QN by 5! For new players I would really recommend bringing High-Explosive or Thermal grenades (optionally Sower's Seeds) to Golgotha, or at least learning how to make them before going, to get rid of the sludge. There's no reason you should ever have to step in it. With Glotrot, if you're not Amphibious, you might want to spread your water into different containers to avoid putrefying your water.

at the beginning, you can press "i" over artifacts to have the merchant identify them for you for a nominal fee of a few drams(although sometimes they dont have the ability, like dromads for example), I used to do the same thing you did where you just buy the item to identify it but knowing this has saved me a lot of headache :)

i have a 4 year old and an 8 month old and just got Qud in the last sale. im so grateful for this playthrough because im too damn tired to play it myself lol....i swear, by the time ive talked to everyone in Joppa and venture out, im already asleep. the music and vibes are so good, it just lulls me to sleep

Golgotha, filter for new players? I'm over a thousand hours in and Golgotha still "filters" a bunch of my builds. It's probably the single most prep I do other than a certain quest at Grit Gate.

I managed to get my hands on a slender crysteel aegis quite early, and have just spent every penny in my pocket on a crysteel battle axe from a dromad at the stilt--so I'm going axes rather than cudgels. Other than that, I've followed along almost exactly in attributes and mutations--only I picked up Heightened Hearing when it asked me to pick something at that first rapid advancement. It's been nice to have that little bit of warning about what's around the next corner--I didn't realize that taking something was optional at the time, though. I've just popped back into the Stilt to drop off a huge load of books that leveled me up 5 whole levels(?!!), so I guess I'm ready for my first try at Golgotha! I've played on and off here and there for almost a year and somehow just.. never went there. I feel decently confident after seeing how it went for you, and have already bought the Corpus Choliys off a lucky merchant, just in case. Hopefully it goes well! Thanks for posting these, it's been both fun and informative to watch you, and really interesting to play along and watch our paths start to slowly diverge in little ways that I'm sure will grow wider! Also: The girsh mechanimist I thought was a nephilim is really a gyre wight. Oops!

I literally just lost a run because a tonic caused an evil twin to spawn in the middle of the Girsh Bethsaida fight. I copied your build and play it in between watching episodes to try and learn what I'm doing without too many spoilers. I was definitely underleveled I'm pretty sure but stun lock and fart clouds were dealing some major damage and full crysteel armour had me pretty safe. Evil twin froze me with a grenade right when the boss doubles and of course I'm out of blaze injectors because I fought and killed the bear dude in the freezer for his jetpack. I then take 400 damage to the face unable to dodge the laser and now I'm back to square 1. I will definitely play more, maybe not using the op farts this time though. Live and drink.

Hyperbiotic beds don't help against infection? Every time I survive Golgotha, I eat the porridge, drink some honey, and sleep in the med bed until the sore throat goes away. Sometimes it takes a couple of days but it always cures it.

I got Ironshank from doing an unknown first run of Golgotha, it scared the hell out of me. Luckily I found the Corpus Choliys and healed myself, phew. Edit: How do you add your own locations into the journal? I can see the "insert" key to add a note but don't know how to place it at a location. Edit2: Don't worry for me, I was sat on Grit gate so didn't do it. I moved one space down and it added the entry at my position.

When you press the insert key, it should place a marker at the tile you're currently on - you can't place markers elsewhere on the world map unless you're standing in that map

Oh Tumbling Pods, my greatest nemesis... They ended my highest level character when he was weak from fighting a duo of legendaries! Never underestimate their damage. :( EDIT: are fidget cells really bad? They always seemed cool to me since they would theoretically charge at all times even underground when strapped to an arm.

They're okay in a pinch, but in my opinion even chem cells are better. A fidget cell only has a quarter of the max capacity of a chem cell, and to recharge it you have to keep equipping and unequipping it. A solar cell or a radio powered cell are far superior :)

Today I beat Golgotha for the first time, I was 1 strata deep an eel tripped me into sludge and I got a sore throat, after I got out I went to the world map and went straight to Kyakukya. When I looked at active status effects, I had lost it, I checked the log, I no longer felt ill after one parasing, how does that happen?
