Great Review Video. I'm in the edge of selling my Wreckoning V3. Now I'm gonna keep it for another year.

Great video and review. I have over 5k miles on the same bike, xo build. Its been great, but cable rattle has been a huge battle with it,so interesting to hear others say it's quiet. Some creative solutions have solved that for me though. Also interesting to hear you mention rear felt harah after some time, and about the coil fatigue. I too thought it was my shock and bought another. Maybe i just needed to buy a new spring. I do find the bike to have a lot of pedal kickback and plan to try out an ochain setup.
@NICADVАй бұрын
@@kez2252 I’ve really enjoyed it and most the noises I had were things wearing out. One I forgot was seatpost rattle, but again it was easily fixed with grease.

Thanks for the long term review! I am glad the industry went longer chainstays, I get all the stability descending on techy chunk but my bike is still huckable and fun at a bike park
@NICADVАй бұрын
It does make sense, I just hope they don't go too long for this bike. I was just riding a 470 rear and boy did that feel slow at any speed.

@@NICADV I totally agree, I hope Evil continues to do what they do to give people some choice for something different

Another great review! I had a Wreckoning for three seasons and rarely loved it. Thought it climbed poorly, too tall to have any precision, and felt heavy, especially with the RS coil it came with. A Fox X2 helped it, but it wasn't until I swapped all the parts over to the Offering that I truly loved riding Evil. The Offering with a 160 Zeb is an amazing bike and what I always wanted the Wreckoning to feel like (for a trail bike). That said, the Wreckoning did make easy work of chair lift and shuttle trails while I felt constantly over-biked everywhere else.
@NICADVАй бұрын
Thank you. That all makes sense, the body position of enduro bikes today definitely help on the climb, but its hard to beat a trail bike like the Offering.

Love short stays. It's a big reason I bought an Insurgent and my Thunderbolt.

I agree, not every bike should ride the same

Sick video! Do you think you can compare it to the dreadnought v2? I think in terms of chain stay they are pretty much polar opposites. The dready has a super long (and growing rear end) while the wreckoning has an almost comically short chain stay (that doesn’t change with sizes). I am curious to see what you think of both extremes, especially since you spoke so well of the dreadnought v2.
@NICADVАй бұрын
That's actually a hard comparison. I would say most of my comparison to the Rocky from the video goes for the Dreadnought. However, the Dreadnought in its mixed wheel form is a bit more "fun" than the Altitude and actually climbs better.

Great review, so good to see a Long term review with solid riding that proves it can take gnarly hits with out braking like so many other youtuber videos.

Just curious what you'd think of the Wrecker if I had to do a good hour of fire road climb to get to the good stuff? Thanks!
@NICADV18 күн бұрын
That was pretty much my regular ride when I owned the bike. It struggles a little when things get real steep or steep and chunky, but its worth it on the descents. Overall I think it's great for that!
