The b7 rs4 was the car which got me into loving cars and Audi’s,I’ve had an A3 2.0tdi,b8 s4 3.0 supercharged and currently got a c7 rs6,I still look at the b7 rs4s and hopefully own one, one day,id be happy just to drive one as I’ve never had the chance,keep up the good work lads 👍

The oil inside the V is most likely caused by a leaking oil filter housing gasket. Would have been a quick fix with the inlet side taken off. At the front of the engine there’s even a drain hole in the V to let it drip out. May likely be the cause of your leak that appears to come from somewhere else. These gaskets always perish.

What a tease no test drive. Be back tomorrow for that. Injectors alone will make a massive improvement with spray patterns and mixture. Especially since the 150k originals. Then the carbon clean ontop of that it'll have transformed it. And if it did have a map it'll be a stupid cheap flash making it run like a dog. Cant wait for the proper map soon to come id beleive

Doing the same job today on a 50k miles,car looks just as bad in the throats! I'm doing it in the drive way not so bad except that black box at the back of the inlet manifold is a pig to get off no access! Glad to save the money crushed walnut shells great job!!

Alright guys, I know it is not a cheap bill, but it shows how people buy these type of cars and do not maintain them correctly..Carbon clean is a must on a RS4 V8. It's a lovely car, and in the wrong hands it could of easily ended up with a knackered engine. You both saved her life lol. I like a stock car tuned engine but lowered, a real sleeper. So maybe supercharging full exhaust with a 200 cell race cat.. It will sound unreal. Nice vid guys. 👍

Just re-watched this video, have you guys thought about getting a Terraclean done on the RS4, it's meant to really make a difference in response (and fuel economy) and clean the fuelling system . . . Maybe the perfect time to do it before getting that Supercharger fitted ;-)

Any RS4 without evidence of a carbon clean will need one 👍 all good chaps and I pray you have gained 60bhp - it’s the difference between a V8 saloon from any brand and an Audi RS. Hopefully the car is now punching hard

Thank god I'm not the only one that hates the silver mirrors, stick a Lemforder front arm kit on her along with some Bilstein B16 Coilovers,new engine mounts and Powerflex Front Anti Roll Bar Bushes and your front end knocking will be gone for another 150k. The arms are more likely original and they all start to go around the same time,top 2 control arms are first to go usually. These beasts are a labour of love but they are an epic car to own and drive👌

Even though there’s not paperwork it’s probably had several carbon cleans, they get pretty thick after 40-60k miles. Even Audi did a recall on them after it became apparent they were starved of power. A few engines were even replaced due to carbon dropping from the inlets and scoring the bores. Most high mileage engines past 100k miles tend to make better power figures as they’re fully run in. My first saloon had 150k miles. My supercharged avant went strong till 180k miles. Hope the inlet flaps have been removed before it inhales the screws.

Would it be worth fitting a decent oil breather/separator to keep the intakes fresh now? Isn’t part of the issue with these cars the oil breather vents to inlet (as normal) but the injectors/fuel doesn’t clean the valves as they’re direct injection into the cylinder unlike old school where they spray over the valves cleaning as they go. I’d be inclined to fit a good catch can and stop the oil breathing into the intake as heavily.

Catch cans are always good, I also hear putting water/meth injection directly at the intake manifold can slightly help with this issue cause it's spraying it at the valves

There are videos about oil catch can in golf r(humble mechanic or engineering explained did it) and the conclusion was they help but only just a little bit. It isn't full solution of the problem. VAG started to use standard MPI in addition to direct injection to fix the carbon buildup problem(and it worked) but recently they stopped using it so I don't really know whats going on.

Don't put yourselves down guys, injectors fail in all of them even if you spent 15k to begin with, that was the root cause of the check engine light for me, runs great now. De coke is important to do. By the way if you're looking to sell the stock chrome from I'm interested!

Yep, they could've blasted 15k on a motor that still needed that 1.5k of work done. It's still easily worth it's buy price + the rest.

Oil leak is probably oil cooler lines or rocker cover gaskets/some gasket underneath the manifold. Parts are relatively cheap but labor costs are going to be high. I think it's a 10-15 hour job
