This is a very interesting thing: I have seen multiple women reacting to this episode's "signal" scene and they all(!) asked wtf he means by signals. It pretty much shows how difficult it is (for guys like Tyler) to not connect everything to attraction. Stay safe out there, I understand the struggle of going out of your way not to give men any ideas. These guys (and others, sure) have so much to learn and check themselves for reaching.

They only signals Wednesday is sending are transactional as when she fixes the barista machine for a ride to the train station, most of Wednesday's interaction are transactional with both Tyler and Xavier but they read them as social interest; girl talks to me so she must be into me.

We know it's transactional because she is the main character. Tyler and Xavier don't so she owed them an apology.

She does seem to have chemistry with Bianca. I thought of that as potentially interest or potentially rivalry I could tell.

Ah, well, considering the show's writers has Tyler saying this, that Wednesday is giving off some signals, yes, we're are suppose to believe that Wednesday has shown some interest in Tyler. It is more evident when she replies that she can't interpret his emotional morse code. What emotional morse code? I haven't noticed anything particular. Has anyone questioned this part? It is almost an equal response or reaction out of frustration or not knowing what to do. Lastly, Wednesday neither confirms or denies her feelings, but clarifies that she is dealing with a lot right now and that she has to prioritize. In other words, romance is on the back burner for now.

Like for example: (the guy ) he likes this girl so he tells her she likes him and doesn't know it. by telling her she is sending out mixed signals. which did not happen all she's done was talk to the guy and bring him places pertaining to the mystery happening in the school. if I'm wrong feel free to tell me what it is please and thank you

@EvilQK, doesn't Eugene's character is somewhat base on ,"The Wickerman" ,but when he is wearing honeycomb protective gear,ha? Do love how the show sprinkles other related pop-culture media ideas into the theme of each episodes?. Episode 2( Batman Returns& Christina Ricci's The Addams Family movie with the arrow to the apple with Pugsley)& this one,(going all Carrie)?.

Wednesday being romantically interested in Tyler or Xavier seemed strange to me as well. Friendship with either maybe, but not romance really. She actually at this point has the best chemistry with Enid.

What an episode of contrasts lol The dance: One of the greatest things in any medium I've seen in a long time. Everything about it was perfectly executed and satisfyingly in character for somebody who seems so out of place at a school dance. Immediately iconic! The boys: This entire love triangle/"signals" thing is so baffling to me. Made me genuinely a little uncomfortable a few times this season. Really hurts those two characters and makes it difficult to be invested whenever they're on screen.
