I don't really think it solves the problem. We have quite a few traps that are usable.

There should be a special limit to backrow. Lets call it limit to 6. You can only play 6 gemeric backrow cards. It could be 5 if 6 is too much. The goal is to stop decks like Shiranui , Gouki , Invoker from running 10 staple traps. But backrow might get weaker as we get better generic XYZ you might want to play some lvl 4 special summon monsters instead.

I think they should Set a limit of how many traps we can add in a deck like 20-25 card deck ( 5-6 traps allowed) 26 card -30cards deck (7 traps allowed) Also they can introduce a feature of star cards that can be used only at 3 and can make these trap card those star cards. Limiting to 3,2,1 won't help i think. Anyway I don't play this game anymore 😄😄😄

Generally only FTKs need emergency bans - that is, decks which can win on the first turn of the Duel through effect damage, before the opponent takes a turn. This deck wins through battle damage and the opponent always gets a turn, so it isn't an issue.

I have used duel links metas pay to play decks, but every single PVP match I drew nothing but spell cards/trap cards on my turn, and the opponents turn, no fucking monsters at all monsters in those many duels. People like to say get good, but if I'm using this douchebags decks, and still forced to lose is an empty argument.
