I can fully believe this story growing up in Manchester in the 80’s and 90’s there was a big traveler population , there still is today but I’ve heard stories about people keeping horses in the house or their back garden of their council flat it’s definitely got some truth to it
@kavalogue6 ай бұрын
As an Irishman i can and im sure many others could too, tell you some weird enough places horses end up. Had a lad walk a Shetland pony through a spar a few years back showing off its massive fifth leg. It was closing shift tho so some leniency for madness

I know its a bit later but always felt this was the story that really started it all, in particular their long partnership

Well it says everything that this is one of the only xfm moments Steve remembers and he has brought it up in recent interviews and podcasts

Best part of this clip is that Karl wasn’t t even going to mention the horse at first, he was going straight to explain how she had this baby and only mentioned the horse to explain how rough the family were.

Tbf my gran used to be a district nurse and she told me she used to have to go round a house on a council estate in Swansea and there was a horse upstairs.
@EvilToaster776 жыл бұрын
Oh god, why? That raises so many questions! Was the patient "a bit rough", looked like Pauline Quirke?

There was a rumour on the estate I used to live on that somebody had a horse in their house.. I wonder if it's something of a popular urban myth?

: The Horse that Karl saw in that house was likely a Great Dane. Great Danes are often compared to horses, they are among the largest of dog breeds and have a snout a facial very similar to a horses. I have a friend who thought he saw a horse in neighbors house when he was 7. The horse, we later figured out, was a large, Grey, Great Dane named 'Molly'. The same thing happened to Karl.

My family once found one that was tied up I a field, but it had made several attempts to free itself due to deep scars in its flesh So, we freed it

Definitely a traveller / Northern thing. I've seen ponies in people's yards.
@rjayyyy9623 Жыл бұрын
I'd say more of a traveller thing for sure. I've seen horses around Abbey Wood, Chessington and other parts of outer London areas.
