High praise indeed I think, given you compared it to a turntable costing twice as much as the EVO2 and it held its own. Thank you for a very interesting and informative review

Hi Audiphile Man, as usual, an engaging & informative & witty review; keep them coming! I do have one question, though, when reviewing, what amp/s and speakers do you use? What’s your preferred listening experience? Stay well.

This is just like reading a review from the much missed Hi Fi World. Perfection in video form.

Have you thought about reviewing the Pro-Ject RPM 3? Interesting design. I would be interested.

Excellent video as always Paul. I'd be interested to hear your opinion on the new Project T2 Superphono, especially the differences in the built in phono stage and something external.

Great video, as always. I have the EVO 1 with several upgrades: Acrylic platter, aluminum subplatter, Sweep It E, Q-Up, and the Power Box S2 power supply (I didn't find the damping feet necessary since I mainly use it with headphones). Knowing that you tried these upgrades back in the day... How would this new EVO 2 compare to my upgraded EVO (using the same cartridge, of course)?

Well, this is an out of the box review with no mods featured. But if I added the same mods which produced the same enhancements? At a guess? The EVO 2 should sound better because it’s starting at a sonically elevated level. Above the EVO 1.

@@TheAudiophileMan Thanks for your reply! I probably didn’t express myself correctly, as it’s not my native language (I'm Spanish). What I actually wanted to ask is which one sounds better (in your opinion), an EVO 2 out of the box or an EVO 1 with the mentioned upgrades. Thanks a lot for the videos and your response!

No idea because I haven’t done that test. But you’re paying a lot more for the upgraded 1. And many of the same mods can be applied to the 2 when funds permit.

@@TheAudiophileMan Thanks for replying. I know, I know, it's more expensive, and that’s exactly why I’m asking! I already own the EVO 1 with the upgrades, and I’d like to know if I should consider getting the EVO 2, or if I should stick with what I have (maybe consider selling the first one...). I’d like to know if I’d really notice a substantial improvement by selling the first one and getting the second (after applying the upgrades).

Hi Paul. As a package is the key word , which comes with an interesting question . The Cartridge update which in the case of the new rega P3 has recently happened, is the playing field becoming more crowded , I accept time is of the essence but if you could have substituted the picket for the gold ring , how far up the food chain do you think it could go ? . Finally with deep sorry I have to confirm after some 54 years in the hifi hobby , I have to admit I’ve never been able to hand lower a stylus on to a record . Yes a bombshell to be true but there you are doing this thing I have never managed to master , and boy have I tried . But after several records becoming unplayable, I have to accept defeat . 😢. Kind regards as always 👍

Use to own the previous evo for 2 years, was my entry to vinyl world, just change for a sl-1200gr2 and it's now day and night

That’s a 4000 pounds turntable!

Nope! Give me a REGA P3 Anniversary Edition anyday.

Looks ghastly, even for a budget design! Besides, you'd be better off starting with a Rega 8 or virtually any Technics deck. That way, since there isn't much room for improvement on them, you won't necessarily be bothered about thoughts of an upgrade.
