Awesome video Evo India Team , almost exatly how I would have made the video ( at least in my mind) , first 8 minutes are filled with good old memory recalls , it was just the start of internet or may be just before that , the late 90's and early 2000's !! I used to purchase a month old magazines from Raddiwala ( cause kid with no money) just to look at all those awesome machines , be it car or bike ! I started my biking oon friends Kinetic Honda and then Yamaha RX100 !!!! Bikes reviews are everywhere on YT / internet ,but this video is charm !!! GG

Things that stood out in this review... 1) the history lesson.. really amazing.. and no other magazine thought of this.. Especially when the 350 is such a revered engine for RE. 2) I like how contrasting RE can be sometimes. They told the media that the "Tripper" does not have features like call and texts notification because they wanted to keep the experience as "undistracted" as possible. And now they end up placing a charging slot near to thr bar.. where normally one would mount their phone.. So just how "un-distracting" that is?? 😂 3) Yes the 2 valve head can be a bit not so nice in this day and age.. However cost is not the only factor... its more or less to do with the profit earned by giving the customer what they can do with rather than.. what they should be getting.. I used to work for RE.. so I kinda know their philosophy. 4) RE could've revolutionized the 350 segment by introducing an even more sophisticated yet efficient engine.. (single cylinder, air - oil cooled, 4 valve, 6 gears counterbalanced) well yes, making it a reality is not as easy as typing.. but RE is clearly capable, as can be seen from the twins. However they chose a more easy route and that's how the meteor came to be. Here if I may add, RE knew that if they wanted they can price the product way more competitively (again the twins). They however are charging quite a good price for this product. And this kind of matters more, because if it were for the twins, where the development costs, manufacturing costs and other expenses could be pretty high. In case of the 350 though, these costs should be significantly lower. A friend of mine who was responsible for designing the crankcase of this particular engine told me that the quality levels are really good.. but the cost is not sky high.. So you know RE is pinching a bit. 5) RE could've easily provided the end customer more than what the meteor currently offers, and at the same time kept the costs in check. However they know that their products sell... and then making that extra effort wasn't really needed (their marketing dept would've probably been very influential here) With that being said, an effort is better than no effort at all. 😅

4th point ➡️ Maybe they feared it might end up eating away the sales of the twins

I still like the Thunderbird 350 compared to meteor 350 beacuse . - It has a good thump sound compared to meteor - Has kick start - Comfortable handle bar - First RE bike to come with LED headlamp projection - Has Tachometer - 20 ltr fuel tank capacity where as meteor has only 15 ltr tank capacity - Doesn't feel outdated - still perform better compared to new bikes in market. - Was one of the advanced bike in RE of its time when it was launched. - It has duel disk brake , the bike launched for the price of 1lakh 70thousand at its time and having duel disk was a great thing as RE didn't offer this in other models. - Totally value for money - When RE TB 350 came to market there were very few cruiser bike in market. By the way i owned RE Thunderbird 350 2016 varient ,now i have metor 350 but still miss the legendary Thunderbird 350.

Riding into high altitude (Himalayan backroads), the 4 vs 2-valve fact might prove decisive. Thunderbird worked without complain for me. I wonder how this will fare. Between the two engines, I don't see much difference in torque or power, so the valve thing becomes even more important. Hope you folks can also demonstrate what difference 4 vs 2 valves translates to in both the machines.

But well i hear thunderbird has some issue with performance and extreme vibration.

Maybe the bike is good, and actually, it is, but Royal Enfield is slowly losing its charm. The basic mechanism, old school retro look, loads of chrome, the metallic feel and a bomb of Manliness (feminists don't get triggered up, just my perspective). Looks are subjective and many liked it also, but it's not the very design of RE, the design language is though similar, but the charm is different. I would surely miss the Push Rod system and the Thump. I like most of the REs, but this bike didn't touch my heart, this like any other long-stroke bike to me. Soon RE would replace the old chassis and engine from all its 350cc bikes, I will miss the old charm. After all change is necessary.

The problem is from a month after the purchase... Five times tappets .. cylinder heads.. and others are replaced.. but no solution... Royal Enfield is the biggest scammer in motorcycle companies... And the service center guys provide very good solution to problem.. complete 5000 km it will.fade away... Next complete 10000 km then it will solve automatically... Someday they will suggest burn the vehicle ..it will fade away. ..
