Have you used it yet? How did it hold off? After a few uses, did it start to turn black in the inside?

turn the infrared grates upside down, and put the regular grates on top.. or just use the regular grates and buy a small "smoker box" to put inside.

My name is Francesco. Six months ago I bought Evolution 5-Burner Propane Gas Grill in Stainless Steel with Side Burner and Infrared Technology at Home Depot in Katy TX and my experience with the grill has not been satisfactory. In fact I want to return it and buy another brand. I am a fan of grills and with this grill it has been fatal for me. The starter has failed me, the paint has been stained, the tires begin to peel off. It does not heat enough. It takes a long time to reach high temperatures to seal the meat. It has many air intakes and it is not efficient to heat. It loses a lot of heat. I had to seal the air intakes with aluminum foil. the ink of the letters is erased when you wash it. very small wheels and they lock. the grill is running with propane gas. already try a new cylinder and opening the key slowly and even heat is not enough. The problem with that barbecue is the design, it has many air intakes and a lot of heat is lost. As you could see in the photos I sent I sealed the air inlets to gain a little more efficiency, but even so it did not seem enough to seal the meat. I do not like that a barbecue cooks the meat instead of sealing it. for that it requires a lot of heat and that the ruts absorb the heat to seal the meat. I had never had this problem with my previous grills. I thought that with nexgril it would rise in category and it was not like that. I have barely 6 months with the stainless steel grill and the painted parts are already stained and covered with aluminum foil to avoid losing the heat. It does not look good for such a short time of use. It is not easy to move on irregular surfaces nor do I recommend it for gardens. This is my experience with only 6 months of using it. I do not recommend it and I would not buy it again. I want to return it to the store. Dissatisfied.

Just bought this Grill February 2019 it's a good looking grill but the grates don't get hot enough, the temperature reader says it gets hot, but the grates themselves are not, too many openings in the back!! I'm thinking of modifying it and putting some kind of sheet metal to block off the rear were it vents, or try and get a refund from Home Depot so disappointing!!!! My old crappie Grill Master 4 burner grill did awesome

DO NOT BUY!!!! I was stupid enough to go buy this due to those flat grills/ infrared thinking I could also use them to cook veggies and small things but anyways that’s besides the point on a good day it might reach 500 degrees with every burner on high, the BTU’s on it is wayyyyyy low regardless of what the box says it comes in and it doesn’t hold heat at all the second you open it even for a second it drops to 200 degrees and takes a good 10 minutes to get to a crappy maxed out 500 degrees...........tried cooking steaks barely got them warm let alone grilled marks/seared only thing it’s good for it does have space so you can cook a bunch of hamburgers at once buttttt it’ll take you an hour because you’re constantly fighting heat issues....just letting use know because I wouldn’t want anyone else to spend their money on this useless piece of garbage that’s taking up space on my deck

This is bad information. The infrared plates should be flipped over so they hang down, and go under the grates. Infrared plate below, grate on top. The infrared will not work if you cook directly on them. This video should be deleted because there are a lot of people doing the same thing and leaving bad reviews about flare ups.

Nonsense...the Nextgrill website shows them on top...and mentions cooking ON them...stop giving bad info if you dont know what you're talking about....

@@rrampage36 Michael Martin is correct! The manual supplied with the grill is very poor....I have owned a infrared grill before as well, the proper placement is as he has explained, the infrared plates should be flipped and they go under the grates.

@@rrampage36 images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/e8/e8ebe95c-571d-40c2-863b-15b926480313.pdf They recommend placing the heat plates UNDER the cast iron cooking grid for Infrared Heat cooking to sear steaks, or to put wood chips after soaking in for smoke flavor, and above the grates for Broiling or Baking (Cooking fish, veggies or even baking a pizza).

I can tell you it takes about 45 minutes to cook burgers on this grill. These grills are junk!

I have one of these with the infrared plates under the grates and it has no issue with getting up to temperature or with burgers. 1/4 lb frozen patties 4.5 minutes per side.
