@@Kaynafan Yeah and it also shows how the game used to have a stronger emphasis on time. Because the narrarator for the home screen said "travel to different time periods" meaning the origional script for the game probably had the player jumping through a planet's history rather than just jumping to different sections of the planet. This better explains the title "A hat in time" which better fits that theme. While the final game is great it's connection to the theme of time is actually almost non existent. Just on a few random occasionals a time piece will cause a brief temporal phenomenon and that's it. Overall you're just going to differnt levels and doing things completely unrelated to time itself so the title "A hat in Time" actually doesn't suit the game very well. I'm guessing they just decided against a time travel plot but didn't want to change the title that had been with the Alpha build for so long.

When I first heard about this game through DanTDM and watched his lets play and I saw the title and saw the game, I was confused because it seemed so time-specific for a game with relatively little time travel. The alpha builds make it so it makes so much more sense.

I love how willing they were to throw out ideas to end up at the fantastic game they got. Like, there's underwater footage here with fish that's just completely gone from the final game. That shows they had underwater mechanics and then realised they weren't fun enough to design a level behind, and eventually just cut back to the more simplified water system we have now.

This is my favourite game now. It's fun, it's funny, it's perfectly balanced, and I got that feeling while playing it, which I only gotten playing games as a kid, u know? Completely forgot how it felt! The aesthetics!!! The variety in gameplay!!! All those little details!!! Honestly, I can praise it forever. And seeing how it has been developed is just... man... They came up with so many options that they didn't implement in the end, and just left the best of the best that worked together... So this is how masterpieces are created... An unimaginable amount of work! I take my hat off...

I sleeped on this game until like 2017/2018 (the Seal the Deal era); and just when Nyakuza Metro dopped I bought the full "Complete Game" bundle with all DLC. I've been doing research on the game history, and I know a lot of people have been with it longer than me, but still. It's been a long way, the little prototype of a game became a very special game in my heart, and I'm happy I jumped on this train. This game is already good but man some of the old stuff was really awesome. Orginaly the game's story had a greater emphasis on time meanwhile the only thing time-related in the current game is the existance of time pieces, a very limited view of what they can do and that every villain wants them. Some of the areas and characters were cut wich is pretty sad to the point that the Nomads (little guys from Alpine Skylines) were originaly from a desert level but had to be plonked onto the Alpine Skyline level (plus the level feels a bit rushed and unfinished in some ways, not sure why but I've had that feeling since I played the level for the first time). Even some of the cut characters appear as frozen statues at Vanessa's Manor. I think the game had more complex ideas for characters, story and areas that were scrapped for whatever reason.
