10 Factor analysis Based CONTENT Determining Factors

Use of animated characters
Music/Audio content *** This is where I’m worried of what FTC might think.
Age of Models
Presence of Child Celebrities
Celebrities who appeal to children
Language
Advertising directed to children
Audience composition - My audience is almost entirely 18-65+ as far as my analytics show.
I personally don’t create and intend my content for children but, I make positive, inspiring content and hope and pray I can continue doing so, but I am very worried of what 2020 will bring. I Hope and pray that the mixed audience exception (16 CFR S 312.2) will find that my content since it’s made for adults will continue to be able to be distributed on my channels in 2020. I know creators that are going to make much less content in 2020 because they are scared of the regulations and fines (UP TO $42,000!!!) I’ve seen some people delete their entire channels and some are taking their content behind paywalls…. none of these choices make any sense to me. I know some creators willl lose their monetization entirely… some will make about 10% of what they are making in 2019.
Because youtube is the most popular platform for children ages 6-12 the FTC has come down hard on youtube, and that it will soon surpass televsion as the most watched video formation in the United States …. which is why all of this is happening.

Probably because these old songs are what our current version of Christmas is, in part, built upon, whereas the more modern songs came while it was already popular. Also, given many Christmas memories are made during childhood, it’s most likely your parents who chose the songs, and thus you were more exposed to songs they already knew (and/or that already existed, depending on your age), which then stuck with you. Also, time trimmed the songs to keep only the best and most memorable ; probably there were many many lesser songs at the time that have simply be forgotten with time.

True, it reminded the actual meaning of Christmas, but the most of the audience's taste has changed, that's the reason 'All I want for Christmas is you' is so big despite the other songs in the same album 'Merry Christmas' has so much meaning and heartfelt lyrics. Not bashing the song AIWFCIY is my favourite too ❤️

@FactsOverFeelings Matter LOL! Okay, I'm a tiny bit "triggered!" I get defensive about my favorite singers I admit. But I don't mean this comment to be critical, or mean, just so you know. I am both actually curious, and have something to say in response. But no disrespect meant! This is something I actually think about a lot, philosophically. And my essay here, it's all in good spirits. Sorry for the length, but that's just my way when I am thinking deeply. Cheers! (Holiday cheers, as it were!) So two questions, then my personal opinion. First question: Who sings any given Christmas carol "perfectly?" (And I'd love some examples, that would be interesting to watch and hear.) Because for anything to be perfect, EVERYONE would have to agree it's perfect, and with a song, that means anyone singing it would have to do it exactly the same way as everyone else. And that doesn't happen, with songs or anything else. The only type of perfection we can strive for in anything, is personal perfection. Like, for me the "perfect" version of White Christmas is Bing Crosby's. BUT, that doesn't mean anyone who sings it differently doesn't do just as good a job (Voiceplay has my second favorite, and it is miles away from Bing's but is fun and delightful and warm and sweet and silly so is awesome!) Every good artist sings songs in a way that is perfect for what they want to convey (assuming they're singing in peak health and circumstances). But Peter wouldn't put this out there if it wasn't exactly the way he wanted it to be. Second question. Which presents do you enjoy opening more? The ones that look likes perfect works of art, that are so polished and impersonal you know someone in a store wrapped them whom you'll probably never meet and who doesn't care about you, or the one with that was obviously wrapped by someone who cares deeply about you, and shows that love in their wrapping of a beautiful but not technically perfect gift, with a bent corner or imperfect flaps? Peter doesn't miss notes. He makes choices. All singers do. A song that reflects a bit of personality and love for the song, but is sung in a way that shows that love by the singer, always sounds better than a technically perfect one. In fact, save any done by machines (again, cold and impersonal but technically perfect) I would say there is no such thing as a "perfect" Christmas Carol. Everyone adds their own touches. If they don't change the notes, they add a flourish, or sing a verse not usually sung, or somehow make it their own. And I say that as a hardcore fan of Josh Groban and Adam Lambert. I'm also a Choir kid (K-12th), my sister was a Choir Director, I was raised on musicals, and my own connections to music are almost spiritual. Josh has one of the most beautiful voices EVER. Adam, well, he's in a class of his own. He CAN do something technically perfect, and nothing is ever accidental with him. But he when he does covers, he still makes them different by adding his own style. Take this video for example. Adam does a cover of Lady Gaga's "Marry The Night" when he was on Glee. Someone took the time to sync them up, and he sings it note-for-note the exact same as Lady Gaga and even in the same vocal range, no easy task! But he has one of the best ranges ever, even better than Freddie Mercury that even Freddie would envy (and that's according to Brian May, look it up, who isn't saying Adam is a better singer than Freddie, just different). So I hope you enjoy it. It's pretty cool. I mean, they are almost note-for-note in sync. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4HSnX2VhJ16pNk So a few "missed" (ie changed) notes happen. Tell a parent their six-year old didn't sing in the school show perfectly. Chances are, they'll argue the point. I'm doing the same for Peter. He has MAD SKILLS and a beautiful voice, and he puts so much love in his singing. And THAT is what makes a song truly great. Thanks for reading, again I mean ZERO offense (I could argue the other side of this too, because I know what you are saying). But I say it's less on WHAT is sung, than HOW it is sung. Blessed Be and enjoy yourself this holiday season! 😊😉😁

"All I Want for Christmas Is You" is a Christmas song recorded by American novelty act Vince Vance & the Valiants. Initially released as a single in 1989, Vince Vance's version of the song has charted several times on the billboard country singles charts. It is Vince Vance & the Valiants' only chart entry. Its not the same Christmas song but they do have the same exact title so its not an original title and I prefer the 1989 version over Mariah Carey's anyday. Christmas songs truly capture the double emotional strike of the season. Christmas is a sort of an emotional nexus for both ultimate happiness and ultimate sadness. It's the joy of coming together, seeing the decorations and presents mounting up, the exchanges of love, cherish and gifts, and the prospect of doing so during years to come. But at the same time the sadness for the one family member who couldn't join, for those who already passed away and can no longer be there for Christmas, or for the happy, simpler Christmases of old which you can never revisit again, or even a general sense of compassion for those in the world who can't have the same Christmas you do.

thank you for adding the fact that "Carol of the bells" is based on a Ukrainian folk song ✨ By the way, the original song is not about bells at all. The Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovich made a choral arrangement of a folk song. The American composer Peter J. Wilhousky heard the choir sing on tour in Europe. Of course, he did not know the Ukrainian language, so it seemed to him that all the voices sounded like the ringing of bells, and therefore he wrote an English text with couplets for this song. In Ukrainian, by the way, this song is called "Shchedryk". Since childhood, all our children go to sing this and other Ukrainian winter folk songs to the neighbors' houses (I have been doing this since I was 5 years old). When I heard this song in "Home alone", I was surprised. And when I grew up, I realized that everyone in the world does not know that this is a Ukrainian folk song (( Therefore, thank you for spreading this information ❤️

I'd hoped you didn't only pick the particular songs from the early days, but would perform them in the most original way possible too, so one can truly see the development and evolution these songs made through the years, like your title suggests. Now every song is sung in a 21st century style in terms of setting, harmony, ornaments, timing, vibrato, et cetera. It takes more than a top hat or a sweater. Hopefully you get the chance and inspiration to create such a video. That would be awesome!

This video combines three of my favorite things: history, music, and Victorian era clothing!! I loved the fun facts for each song and it was so cool seeing how Christmas songs evolved over the centuries. And the kiddo cameo melted my heart! A very, very Merry Christmas to you and your family, Peter! Christmas love and cookies to you all! P.S. Have you heard of the song Gaudete? It's a Latin Christmas hymn from the 16th century. I think you'd like it. Happy Christmas!

When "I'll Be Home for Christmas" came up, my eyes immediately started to tear up for no reason. I can't understand why. I haven't really had to celebrate Christmas without another family member. None of my family is currently in the military. I'm not in the military. I don't know anyone who has a family member in the military. By all logic, it doesn't make any sense. Then again, the mind, heart, and soul rarely does, and music touches all three of these if done correctly.

Moyaatje87 I understand what you said, but KZbin isn’t fining creators, the FTC is. They won’t fine videos like this one because it’s kinda in a gray area. It could be kid attractive but it’s mostly not. They only fine clear cut violations. Like if someone labeled a nursery rhyme video as not made for kids, they’d probably fine that. It takes a really long time to fine someone, so they won’t be fining youtubers left and right. They also won’t fine you more than you’re making in a year or something: it’s against the law.

@@raegan06 Yea this is honestly why I'm kinda confused why everyone is in SUCH a panic over it. I get the worry when it's animation channels and some gaming channels, because video games and animation are sadly largely considered "for children" by the general public (though even then when the channel consists of like 90% 18+ horror and shooter games it's a bit hard to see how it could be aimed at children, but I digress), but you have news channels, music channels, political comedy etc. freaking out over it too as if there is any reasonable evidence that they would be considered kid's content.

It has been pointed out that All I Want For Christmas Is You was precisely designed to be a huge nostalgic hit - it uses the AABA format common to Tin Pan Alley songs (and not the verse-chorus-verse-chorus format typical of modern songs) and the "50's chord progression" (I-vi-IV-V, in this case starting in G). And the sleigh bells at the end don't hurt for a Christmas song. :)

"Who else heard this song for the first time in the movie "Home Alone"?" Haha, I'm Ukrainian, I didn't know what we call "Schedryk-Schedrivochka" had an English rendition for YEARS and first noticed it in an American movie when I was like eleven or twelve. Up till that point in time my brain just kind of refused to register it as "that folk song I learned in school". Also, you can play a basic version of it using three adjacent white piano keys.
