That generation was absolutely insane. Maybe it's because I was a kid but the PS2 was on fire and than when the og Xbox launched the level of visual quality was absolutely insane at the time. Unlike these days back than consoles had tech that wasn't even available on pc. Good times.

Agree. For a deep forest route, you want to feel like you are deep in the forest. Sunlight breaking through the overgrown canopy 👌. More generally on racing sims, it is amazing how tech has evolved.

Looking at back at all the Deep Forest tracks takes me back. Still feels like yesterday when I was racing back in the older ones. I will say GT3 looks best for Deep Forest.

GT3 has probably the best art direction of the entire series. GT5 and GT6 look so pale with blown out highlights. I used to think those games look stunning, but looking back it's GT3 that looks the best. GT7 also looks great. GT3's rendition of Deep Forest is easily the best. I wouldn't mind GT7's version if they tweaked the tree canopy and maybe sorted out the last sector a bit.

I remember a UK PS2 advert that showed a car rolling to a stop on track and just sitting there to admire the view, with the birds tweeting and the engine idling. I bought one (that I couldn't really afford) not long after.

I miss the overhanging trees and the volumetric light (which could be so cool on PS5 and show the full power) in the trees and the "shortcuts" ... I went always so hard left under the trees on the left turn after the second tunnel ... also under the trees into the straight before the gallery ... felt like half of an offroad track GT2 & GT3 Versions were the best ... you could use all the curbs to its fullest ... the more forresty ones have more atmosphere ... now it looks like any other track :(

If you really grew up with it the revolution is much more intense then it looks like in this youtube video. I am build 85 and I can remember as teenager and later adult how big the changes was from gt2, gt3, gt4, gt5... Everytime amazed when seeing the newest version for the first time... Biggest emotions I had as a kid when I saw the first time gt3 for ps2 running on a tv in demo mode in front of a window of an electronic shop...

Deep Forest was iconic for the overhanging trees and all the bumps and gravel next to the racetrack. Moreover the last 3 corners before start/finish divided between good and great drivers. I like many things about GT7 but why do you have to rip out the soul of the racetracks to make them look more realistic? These are original tracks, they should look arcade, wild and fun 😢

I have spent so much time with GT3 and GT6. What really impresses me is how nicely GT3 holds up in this comparison. I cannot wait to get my hands on GT7, pretty sure this will be great.

I first mixed the track up with trial Mountain which I liked more, but then watching it I started even remember like muscle memory from gt3:the first corners where you had to be patient with the speed and the last corners where with perfect timing you could let the car loose side traction while already accelerating and building up higher speed. That felt rewarding!

Wow, I didn't expect that GT7 looks so flat, there's almost no contrast and a hole lot of trees are missing. The rocks just before the last tunnel always scared me, I hit them so hard so often. Now some fluffy fences and a little meadow, how nice. DF used to be a tunnel in the trees, now it's just a boring track. Unimpressed.

Over two years living with 2 friends, we amassed over 2,000 days racing, $16million (all earned, not game sharked) and over 75 cars in the garage, burning out two Playstation consoles in the process.......

My friends and I called it Deep minge. One of my favourite tracks in GT3 its fast and flowing especially in the F1 cars around 50 seconds or less. I would just do lap after lap after lap in time trial shaving a couple of thousandths off every 100 laps if I was lucky.

The older Deep Forest tracks had the look and feel of a closed road course, kinda like the Nurburgring, but smaller. The newer versions just look straight up like a generic racetrack by comparison.

I played Gran Turismo 2 and 3 extensively. I started with GT1, and kind of ended with GT4. I played GT5 and GT6 a few times. I pre ordered GT7. Hoping to get back into it. GT2 and GT3, are really what I have the most experience with on this track. I think I liked GT3's version of the track, mostly because of the graphic jump. I'm trying to remember what consoles they were on. I think GT1 and GT2 were on the PS1, then GT3, and GT4 on PS2. Then a long wait for GT5 on the PS3. That wait is what killed it for me. By the time it came out, I wasn't very interested. then GT6 on PS4.

GT7's light-filled rendition must be what they race around in paradise, pure bliss. I also love the change to the track layout, adding at least one super hard breaking zone followed by a super high speed corner. It adds much more character to the track instead of being a generic left-right and some more left.

Gran turismo 3 was the biggest step compared to how much the game moves. It has gotten more polished, and a bit better at the simulation bit. But it had the most competitive cars in each race and such cool cars to choose from. Back when cars where still posters in every boy's room

Graphics wise, the ps3 ones were literally gt4 (ps2) with more textures. The ps2 games had so much better graphica than the ps1 ones. Amazing. I still love GT1 tho, my first gran turismo

GT1/2/3 - ps1/2 - the days where the game came out and that was it. Barely any bugs or glitches, cause they knew that there was no fixing it. ........now, released early access for those paying an extra $30 or something, ontop of a full price AAA game, then its full of bugs, day one 40gb updates, and updates/patches every week. We have become the beta testers, and we pay for the privilege to do so??
