It might sound crazy but I've a record for holding my breath for 2:30 minutes, so this wasn't so tough for me and I legit beat CJ. The difficult part for me was not to laugh at the texts that were appearing there lol. You almost got me with that 'you won't be able to respawn in a nearby hospital'.

I took the deepest breath and I managed to last longer than CJ did, but I gave up 2-3 seconds afterwards 'cause I couldn't hold it anymore. I gulped a bit of saliva at around 40 seconds without taking a breath and it gave me a bit more energy for some reasons. But CJ's had it way harder 'cause he had to swim while keeping it, I was just sitting on my couch XD

7:01 the reason why Niko can't dive underwater and instantly dies while at the car is because there's nothing below the water so the developers so removed the diving feature and put an instant death code if you don't get out of the car immediately while sinking. They were going to have the underwater feature in the game but the problem was they were making the game on a different engine before having the Rage engine which they had to start all over from there delayed. but you can drown if you spend too much time on the water without being inside of a car same goes for NPC. they can able to swim but they'll try to get back to the surface and they'll die within a few seconds I know the gangs can swim when they're recruited but from what I know that some of the characters like Big Smoke and Catalina can swim but others can't like Madd Dogg because when I fell down to the water with him on a vehicle I decided to leave and Madd Dogg immediately drowned after he got out too
