It's been 6 years since I started wanting the 2003 plarail edward. I got the trackmaster 2 edward instead. Disgusting. Then one Christmas, I asked for plarail edward, but I forgot to put in the year. And I got the 2018 plarail edward.

I'm pretty equal on both versions on the Plarail Edward, both 2003 and 2018. The old version of Edward is accurate to his TV series model, while the 2018 version of Edward is really nice of its details and accurate CGI face despite my gripes with the wheel configuration.

Edward is/was the only engine that used that length of side rod and that meant a whole part was being kept for only one engine. The long rods were used on Henry and Gordon, and the standard rods on every other engine that had rods. It's unfortunate that Mattel and Tomy chose capitalism over accuracy. I expected as much for Mattel, but not Tomy.

Isn't it funny that my Fisher-Price is very slow, but an excellent goods hauler? For Edward, I would expect at least for my Gordon (Talking earlier Trackmaster) to pull better, but with the exception of a Hit Toys Diesel that drags anchors for a living, the Fisher-Price Edward is the strongest and slowest oddly enough.
