Fun fact: if your a lap behind and players are going on the ramp in lap 2 it'll appear invisible to you but for the players ahead of you it'll be there and if they drive on it, it'll appear to you like they're flying.

For a Mushroom Cup track, Kalimari Desert must be a really difficult racetrack if it returned in a Leaf Cup. 🍄 🍃

Anyone seeing that most of the Booster Course Pass tracks are also in the 3ds version? Does that mean Mariokart 8 pulls from Tour which pulls from 7?

@@gadielhernandez6113 SNES Rainbow Road's road behavior seems to pull from Mario Kart 8 than on Mario Kart 7. It has more huge waves compared to Mario Kart 7's tiny waves,

for a very long time the majority of tracks in tour were 3DS ports because it was the closest console-wise, and therefore the easiest to port. so yeah, i wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing a large amount of 3DS retros.

I quite like what they did in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (and fine, I guess by extension Tours). The original Kalimari Desert was memorable, sure, but you never really have to interact with the tunnels and the train. It's cool that they're there, and it's very cool you can drive around on the rails, but you never really have anything to gain from doing so. The layout in 8D gives you that original experience, but then forces you to interact with the rails and the train. It uses the geometry of the track in an interesting way that honestly is pretty fun.

i really dont like what they did on lap 2 and 3. Like why doing that ?? They should of kept it like in the original version and the 3ds version. Nintnedo is like importing mario kart tour tracks to the dlc and that is a little disappointing ☹

The only thing i dont like about the MK8 Kalimari desert is the music, in MK7 and MKTour they keep the original music, i always loved the music :) .

SAME I HATE HOW THEY DID THAT FOR LAP 2 JUST THE WHOLE IDEA OF TRACKS CHANGING PER LAP IS THE STUPIDEST THING IT FEELS WRONG AND DISGUSTING THEY ALSO DO IT FOR THE CITY TRACKS UGH I HATE IT JUST MAKE THEM 1 SINGULAR ROUTE NINTENDO SHOULD NOT BE PORTING THE TOUR VERSIONS OF ICONIC TRACKS THAT RUIN THEM

I disagree, though there are a few things I wish Nintendo would change: 1. Although it would probably be impractical for a race with AI players, I wish it was possible to go through the entire tunnel. (I believe it was only possible in the N64 version.) 2. I noticed that the train’s passenger cars’ wheels have connecting rods on them. (Much like steam locomotives have IRL) While this isn’t wrong, it is an odd design choice.

@Tomas Gomez but why does it suck? You didn't even explain why. All you said "I miss when I used to play on it on Mario Kart 7" and that's not a reason as to why the 8 Deluxe version sucks. Imo I think it's improved massively due to the fact that we can actually race on the train tracks this time. All the other versions horrible tbh.
