Lugia is still one my top favorite legendaries. It's design is pretty straightforward but it's just so damn big and majestic, truly what a legendary should be.

Wish some of that lore carried over to the games, but a little bit more toned down. The whole thing about Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres being the creators of all of Earth's oceans and currents was a little bit too much. Would have been ok if that were confined to the Orange Islands/Sevii Islands only. Lugia was going to be the origin of all life in the movie, but it was relegated to being the one who keeps balance between the three forces of fire, ice and lightning. It was also going to be God, "all things as One." I guess, I understand why they didn't want to give them those roles in the games. It would have interfered with the lore of future legendaries and mythicals. Much of those functions were given to future legendary Pokémon such as Kyogre, the origin of the ocean, and Arceus, the origin of the universe and the equivalent of the "One" in the Pokéverse.

As far I can found Pokémon like Deoxys, Beheeyem are psychic type and associated with space, so maybe it's the same case with Solgaleo( not so sure about this one).

I used to think that Lugia and Ho-Oh were mythical Pokémon because they were locked behind the Navel Rock event. I spent most hours trying to find out how to get the ticket to go there. I lost hope and gave up after a few days of online searching Then I saw a commercial for Heart Gold and Soul Silver and my worries were put to rest

When I got to lugia (soul silver) I tried and tried to catch it but I had to use the master ball. then I got to HO-OH with my pokémons at level 50 and managed to weaken him and capture him in the third ultra ball. After that I found myself amazing.

Well, when you get your first badge, prof.elm's assistant in the pokemart will give you a togepi egg, evolve it and have a shiny stone to evolve it to togekiss

TFW you realise you CAN'T GET AEROBLAST ON LUGIA IN CRYSTAL EDIT: actually it could be done with glitches.
