Windows Vista is the most beautiful Windows version ever. I remember being distracted by the beautiful Aero UI in Vista and 7. I was looking at the Aero UI, instead of paying attention to the presentation. I can also remember the days when our school computers were running Vista and XP. We always wanted the Vista computers, and hated the XP ones. I also fought for a seat in front of the Vista computers. We almost cried if the teacher gave us XP computers, and fought with the kids that got the Vista ones. Vista never deserved the hate it received :(

They for real need to bring back the transparency!!! It can be flat, and not as 3D and glassy as Vista/7’s to match 11’s theme!!!
@Karter-Jean2 жыл бұрын
@@elijahtorres2688 I agree! It was the most beautiful UI in Windows ever ✨ I don't understand why did they ever need to remove it. And Win 10's UI is as inconsistent as hell 😑 Vista's UI was the most magnificent and last consistent UI 💙

Yes, unfortunately the MODERNISE EVERYTHING trend has taken yet another victim in the form of Aero. At least they made its successors of Windows 10 and 11 look good, as it wouldn’t have done Windows justice to follow a beautiful default theme in one OS with an ugly one in the next

DOS based builds can allows you to return to Windows even if you got BSOD, while NT builds will crash your system when a BSOD occurs and you must restart your computer after that
@yeppiidev2 жыл бұрын
it's kinda obvious because the BSOD comes from windows and doesn't affect the DOS underneath while windows NT based systems have their own kernel and they BSOD because something went wrong in the kernel level

Interesting fact: 10X ended up being the stand in for 11 in terms of alpha builds, originally planned for a DS style of device which didn't pan out as hoped so it was tried again for a Chrome book alternative which didn't work out either, at which point it was simply promoted to a full version upgrade for any suitable device. Also, Neptune wasn't on track as hoped either, so its place in the timeline was split in three - one being the 9x-based Me, the second being 2000, and the third being Whistler which became XP.
@EyeSooGuy2 жыл бұрын
Interesting fact. Windows 3.1 introduced the Registry which allows you to save the settings you make to your PC so you don’t have to re-set them the next time you reboot.

A part of me wonders how Vista would've been received by the public had Longhorn's development not been reset.
@Eduar69962 жыл бұрын
It would've needed a hefty cut on the feature creep. It had everything, ranging from actually useful stuff (beefing up security, unlike what was on XP SP1 or earlier) up to a filesystem that never went to public (WinFS, anyone?). Also, cue the endless parade of themes that also never went outside of development. I think cutting the feature creep would've made it somewhat stable, but either wouldn't be as secure (going in and just barely learning of the new flavor of malware that struck XP on that month and could've affected Longhorn) or as standardized (probably becoming more of a mess early on, although drivers would still do whatever and not be rejected). In the long run, I guess it didn't matter as Microsoft went Metro (or rather Zune style, perfect to complete the 'utter failure' look on Windows 8) and then trying to redo whatever it was already made a decade and a half ago (round corners and actual transparency) while haphazardly burying older features.
