Most of you probably already know this, but if you roll your windows down when it's raining, or right after it rains, it pushes all the water drops to the top of the window. Nice detail. Just thought it was cool.

@@christygruber2283 By pressing the key that corresponds to whatever key you have mapped to that function. It works just like a real one. If you press the key, it rolls down. If you hold it down, it stops when you release it, or you can press it again while it's going down to stop it.

Yes, it's come a long, long way to where it is, but even now there could be a lot of improvements. What bothers me the most, currently, is how the ground looks when it's wet. There's no puddles or any indication that there's water on the ground other than having perfectly flat reflections to it. That is a very old trick that, by 2022 standards, doesn't cut it imo.

Exactly my thought. And the reflection is even barely visible, only on dark asphalt roads, and no puddles. Even any mobile game rainy weather looks better. And I miss that rainy days in the game, where sky is overcasted, it rains whole day, and everything seems to have higher "contrast", colours look brighter etc. SCS has only sun and thunderstorms with hurricane-like white fog, nothing in between. There is nothing realistic about it.

@@Sira_Kackavalj That could be true, yes, but there are games from more than 10 years ago that had that feature. Take TDU 2 as an example, when it rains there's puddles, the ground looks wet and so on. It is visually nice to see still

they should make the rain switch between heavy and thin rain, like if it's raining hard then after some time it becomes a light rain than heavy rain again, to be more realistic, it rains hard and then just stop out of nowhere

Exactly. This makes the wipers speed not very useful. You'll just turn to max, when irl you normally change the speed based on the level of rain.

Lol I just posted about that. I’ve had ETS/2 for 14 years and the AI is the dumbest by quite a bit. Get into an argument on steam and it’s like they’ve all been paid to defend it. “It’s you, it’s alright in my game, I indicate and they stop” etc. I’ve driven for 30 years, so I know how traffic behaves if you pull a 42 ton truck in front of a car! Clue, they don’t run into your truck every day….

I love scs games especially ets2. From my childhood i am playing it for relaxing. But the rain dynamics should improve seriously. I am using mods for better rain but in vanilla game i want to have better weather dynamics because i am only driving in rainy weather.

The best rain effect on the glass was the game "Hard Truck II" (King Of The Road) where if you didn't use the wipers, you couldn't see anything at all. These truck simulators? they only have an embarrassing rain parody where you don't have to use lights or wipers for the whole game. Because visibility is still very good.

i don't think so in ets2 or ats u can change the rain drops to snow and envornment covered in snow with mods it looks really nice.

I don't see any Dates in ets and ats, only days. So i doubt about the seasons... You usually need winter mod with that.

they have hard time with this, there should not be straight lines of rain going down when vehicle is in motion, the 2009 snow flakes are better at it, but unfortunately even the 2022 rain overlay is very flat has no depth it almost seems it was better in 2002 and 2003 as it seems the rain streaks are actually stopping on ground further in view, but in 2022 it's just flat on screen... rain and particles still have so much to improve and they seems to be vastly ignored by everyone

They did start to neglect the wiper animations recently though. All ATS trucks since the Cascadia suck in that regard.

@@automation7295 you clearly don‘t understand what I am trying to say. Of course they have windshield wipers. All I am saying is, that SCS didn‘t put as much effort into the animation compared to other trucks. The wiper animation on the Cascadia, the 57x and the 9900i for example are linear, and have a constant speed through every phase, whereas the older trucks had the wipers slow down at each stopping point, making it more fluid and lifelike. Having the wipers immediately change direction like that would most likely damage them over time, if it would even be physically feasible.

No evolution. Rain effects right from 2006. Rain in Hard Truck 2 (2000) looks better than ets ats 2022. Your rain still moves same speed as truck? Just look at this stupid drops outside omg...

@@automation7295 yes it is, pal. It matters, because game we play is fkn SIMULATOR and they can't bring good looking rain, they still can't make snow when players already makes several mods. Even front window doesn't becomes dirty - what a simulator! Years go by...
